Belleville-Guy
Hopefully someone out there can help. My daughter just bought (1st car) an 08 Edge. We replaced the Valve cover gasket and seals when I noticed a single yellow wire no longer connected. The wire is part of the charging system harness. Runs from the battery, across the center of the engine and down to the alternator. Just before it takes a 90 toward the grill, a single wire (yellow) leaves the harness and heads toward the firewall above the cam sprocket. It has a clip on ot that attaches it to the bolt end on the rear valve cover. I attempted to upload photos but file size is too big. If someone out there has an edge and can pop the hood or knows where this wire goes, my daughter and I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance. DILLARD000
May be an engine ground wire; wild ass guess without a pic. Does need to be connected or electrical gremlins may pop up. Belleville-Guy
Discovered what it is. It's the wire that supplies power to 12v pressure sensor on the power steering pump. The engine was making horrible rattle and banging noise. I put on a new connector and reattached it. Noise is completely gone. Really strange point I'd like to share is that it had zero typical power steering symtons. No noise from moving the wheel, no high pitch wining from the pump.
EddieHudson
A little late but I just got back from checking my 2010. It's a light green wire going to the PS Pressure switch.
