EDST777
Change of TPMS sensor attachment type and place for 2006-2010 from rim to nipple. It's possible? someone did it, partly on one wheel or all four wheels at once. The nipple-mounted sensors feel more practical and reliable to me. Thank you, any thoughts you may have. I was also interested in clarifying whether the TPMS 315 Mhz 2011-2014 sensors are suitable for 2006-2010 cars, because there is also a similar frequency of 315 MHz, but only they differ in location or there are other differences? WWWPerfA_ZN0W
there are universal sensors such as from Schrader that you can use for the conversion. i think they are the same frequency 2007-2014, but not 100% sure. the band style sensors on our 2007 are still original, and 3 out of 4 are functional. so 16+ years is a good haul. i think they are more active in later generations leading to quicker decline. Thank you for your help, yes, I really noticed that the original sensors work properly for a very long time, while the same sensors "not original" can leave work earlier. In my question, I would like to clarify whether the sensors are suitable from 2011-14 (1.5) to 2006-10 (1.0), because there may be differences in receiver and frequency? As far as I know the attachment points in 1.0 and 1.5 of the TPMS sensors are different and the idea was to use the 1.5 sensor on the 1.0 car. WWWPerfA_ZN0W
from what i have seen, the TPMS system is very particular about the sensors it uses. so most likely, sensors from 2011-2014 will not work although specifications may seem compatible. hence why i suggested universal sensors like these https://www.amazon.com/Schrader-Sensor-33500-Universal-Programmable/dp/B0B581Y6RP https://www.schradertpms.com/en/our-products/schrader-ez-sensor-familyr https://www.schradertpms.com/sites/default/files/2020-07/2020 App Guide.pdf Edge 2007 2010 W Chrome Wheels 315 6F2Z-1A189A 33500 33700 Edge 2007 2010 W/O Chrome Wheels 315 7L1Z-1A189A 33500 33700 if you want to get a tool also, the guide lists compatible tools.
