echotango
Please redirect if this has been discussed or solved before. My 2019 Edge ST has the cross traffic alert. It can be turned off using the instrument panel settings, but it's temporary. I'd like to disable it permanently. I seem to remember seeing something about jumping the wiring so that it does not detect, and also does not give you an error message on the display. My gripe is that, for example, when I'm backing in my driveway I get that annoying BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP for the cars that are across the street and in front of me. When I'm in reverse... I can't recall when it alerts me any other time. I'm not above installing jumper wires or modifying plugs to make this go away.
Cerberus
I'd guess this would be easier to accomplish with forscan and more easily reversible if you ever decided to sell the car and re-enable all the bells and whistles. I don't know precisely where that data bit is but i'm sure someone does
echotango
I've heard of forscan, but what is it? I'm assuming some kind of Ford specific OBD hardware/software judging by the context. Thanks

Its not terribly intuitive, and there's a steep learning curve, but its very powerful. check out this page, do some reading. https://forscan.org/documentation.html
