2013 Sport Brake Issues HELP!!!!!

Recommended Posts

So issues all began with my wife parking on a steep street at a friends bridal shower. She calls saying her pedal is super stiff, after she arrived home i took it for a test drive and confirmed the stiff pedal that you had to stand on the get vehicle to stop. I consider myself pretty mechanical and after checking the obvious thing I determined that the master had more than likely failed. After replacing the master, then booster, replacing all brake fluid, bleeding each tire with a compressed air bleeder and purging the ABS module with a scan tool the brakes are now super soft pedaled and don’t work great unless you hit the brake pedal quickly like your stomping on them. Did i get a bad master or what am i forgetting? I have also tried the slamming on the brakes method to trigger the ABS and nothing has changed. Please help a guy out!

Check the vacuum line and its non-return/check valve is good.

Let the engine idle for a few minutes to build vacuum in the booster then disconnect the hose at the booster and confirm there's an inrush of air.

Yes i have done this also. There is plenty of vacuum. No leaks anywhere, fluid or vacuum

I have also replaced the check valve with a ford OEM valve

Anything else you haven't mentioned?

Not that i recall but I’ve been fighting it for a while now and feel like I’ve chased every possible common issue with no change
