DND93
Hi Everyone, I just found this site tonight and looking for suggestions. I have a 2017 Edge Titanium with a 3.5L V6 with 60,000 miles. I brought it in to Ford yesterday because the engine light came on and it was rough when started that morning. Late today Ford called me that it was coolant intrusion in one of the cylinders and would need a long block at $9500. I know there's a lot of reference out on the Internet for the 2.0 engines, but will my 3.5 be covered as part of the lawsuits or part of a recall? If not, do you think there's anything Ford will do? They sure didn't offer any ideas on the phone today. Thanks in advance
Samurai Edge
First, do an internet search on your particular issue looking for " coolant intrusion " on your particular vehicle / engine and see what you find. That may give you the answer you need. Second, call Ford Corporate and see what they say AFTER you do your own search. Did the dealership clearly explain what they meant by " coolant intrusion " ? That could mean almost anything. Could be as simple as a leaking head gasket which does not require a long block replacement. Head gasket replacement could be $3000.
