Changing Head Unit with keeping Rear Seat DVD

Recommended Posts

Hi,

in our 2007 Edge we have this roof-mounted DVD system which is wired to the factory head-unit.

Now we are planning to switch to a fancier aftermarket head unit and are wondering what is needed to keep the DVD system running. We found a pretty expensive adaptor with some sort of electronics in it - do we need this / do you know any alternatives?

EDIT: What about this one: PAC C2R-FRD1

We found out about the steering wheel controls adaptor PAC SWI-PS already.

Also we would like to know where the amplifier for the factory trunk-mounted sub is located.

Thanks,

Bastian

I can't verify if it's actually necessary to keep the RSE running, but I can tell you my harness has the same RSE feature and mine still works. I bought an incredibly expensive Metra AXXESS (sp?) one. The Pac versions at the time, were missing a couple features like the ability to adjust rear/front fade.
