chainsaw2608
I recently purchased a used 2008 AWD Limited Edge with 25k on it. When I asked about the warranty the saleman told me it might be outside of the factory warranty even though it doesn't have 36k miles on it due to when it was manufactured. Is there a way to determine when a vehicle's born on date is to see if it is within the three year period?
Platinum White
The bumper to bumper warranty starts on the in service date and extends for 3 years (36 months). Some stuff is warrantied for 12 months from the in service date. Everything else is identified in the warranty guide. Go to a Ford dealer and ask for an Oasis report, the born on date will be on the report. Edited March 2, 2010 by Platinum White
Grey
As long as you are requesting an OASIS report (from the service department) ask them to pull the warranty history for the vehicle. If there are any concerns you have, ask them to code for the concern in the request and the report will identify all of Ford's known issues in that vehicle area. The OASIS report will also alert you to any possible warranty cancellation issues and/or if there is an ESP contract on the vehicle. Review the warranty history with the service advisor as there may be issues you want to be alert to long term. However, the fact that there has been a repair under warranty does not extend the warranty on that concern.
