MKX Adaptive Headlights with (HID)

Recommended Posts

Has anyone put in HID lights in a MKX with adaptive headlights? I was thinking about it and was wondering if there is enough room for all the wiring. Also does anyone know

if the light bulb moves back and forth, or is it just the projection lens that move. Any info would be helpful Thanks.

I have had the Restrosolutions HID kit for 8 mos. and have been extremely happy with the kit. Havent had any problems. They are knowledgeable about what is needed to produce a kit for the Linc/Edge. There are cheaper HID kits but you can have problems as you can see by doing a search for HID in the forum. Resto is a fair price and a good product. IMHO

The bulbs are mounted into the projector and do move with the light. The HID bulb moves the same as the halogen bulb does since it is mounted in the same place..

Dont fall for the Plug&play BS as anything that is good will take a little effort.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I think this is one of the best modifications that can be done to the MKX.

I installed a kit from Retro-Solutions, 55W 6000K.

55W it too bright BUT the 35W kit will light the “bulb out indicator.”

6000K is TOO blue; Todd at Retro swapped them for 5000K.

Send Todd an email sales@retro-solutions.com , he can answer any questions you have.

The bulb does move but NOT much, not going to be a problem.

I thought the 55 watt would be too bright also. I got the 35 watt w/4300K bulbs. The harness provided by Restro had the resistors wired in to keep the "bulb out light" from comming on. :)

When did you get yours?

I'm going to contact Retro to see if they have an "upgrade kit."

Thanks
