Grizzly0102 Posted July 13, 2010 Report Share Posted July 13, 2010 Hi Edge Community, I have a 2010 Edge SEL which I bought with roof rails. I have just baought some Thule cross bars to carry two kayaks. The manual states that the max load is 100lbs. I have seen photos of Edges with roof rails with what looks like an additional piece for strength. Does anyone know about this? How can I beef up my roof rails to carry about 150lbs? Theakerr Posted July 13, 2010 Report Share Posted July 13, 2010 If you are talking about the cross rails, they are a standard Ford part. Note, the Ford rails are not adjustable and when removed, which is a bit of a pain, the bolt holes show. Compared to others on the market, including some Ford products they are a very poor design (IMOP).
