Coming Home

I'm coming home to Ford after an 8 year affair with Dodge. All the cars I've ever owned have been a ford except for my 2002 Durango. Should pick up my 2011 Edge SEL AWD tomorrow.

My ford vehicles:

my first car, 1972 Ford Elite. It was in pretty bad shape when I bought it for $350, but considering I was 17 and paid for it myself, not too bad. I sold it 3 years later for what I paid for it.

1976 Mustang II hatchback. I loved that car! Bought it used for about $2200.

1986 Ford Escort. Last year for a carburetor engine. Stripped down cheapest model. Crank windows, no a/c. Best car (repair wise) I've ever owned. Bought brand new for $6500

1994 (or maybe 95?) Ford Aerostar. Bought it used. Transmission went at 100,000 miles. Repaired it, then we lost both the Aerostar and the Escort in a garage fire...

1997 (I think) Ford Aerostar extended. I didn't want another rear wheel drive minivan, but husband did in order to tow a boat. Bought it used.

1999 Ford Windstar. Bought demo with 4500 miles on it.

2002 Dodge Durango. Bought demo with 4000 miles on it. Was so tired of minivans.

I've been in ford since 1998 and most problem in fords are the a/c heater, the carburetor.

Ever since I had my truck there is a slight problem I encountered. and when it comes to your vehicle's carburetor linkage,

the old saying "chains are only as strong as their weakest link" rings true.

Congrats on the purchase. You chose an excellent time to get back with Ford. They are really doing some good things.

You know they are doing big things when a previously anti-Ford guy absolutely loves his Edge (I used to say Found On Road Dead when someone mentioned FORD).

Shoot, I used to hate Mustangs BUT have nothing but good things to say about them now. Mulally FTW!
