Transmission Problem '08 Lincoln MKX

I'm having a weird problem with my 08 Lincoln MKX AWD. It's happened only twice in the last few weeks.

When you turn the car on and start to drive, it feels like the transmission is stuck between drive and neutral, you can floor the gas pedal and the car will move forward but not very fast. If I pull over, shut the car off and turn it back on, it runs fine afterwards. When the problem happens there are no lights on the dash and the shifter is clearly in drive. Could maybe even be a throttle position sensor issue, but either way it should throw a code.

Anyone else have this problem or heard of it?

We haven’t had that problem.

But have had a couple of EXTREME hard down-shifts at 65+ MPH and some ruff shifts when making turns at red lights.

We had them check and document their finding…”Can’t duplicate problem.”

We then went straight to the finance manager and asked if he could meet or beat "this" internet ESP quote.

He said “Yes he could” so we bought it (less than $500.00), with the comment “It’s still your transmission.”

He just smiled and shrugged.
