Category 5 Posted September 24, 2011 Report Share Posted September 24, 2011 Got our 2011 Edge today and the dealer insisted on a courtesy watch. I was sure they didn't have the finesse to clean the "way too shiny and scratchable" center area (by the cup holders) without putting scratches in it and as I suspected, upon examining it after getting home there are long linear scratches in it. He probably just used a towel to wipe it. I don't even want to involve the dealer who will A - say he cant see them without his glasses, and B- insist that it wasn't their doing. Anyone know how to polish that area to get the scratches out? The car is exactly one day in our family. I see Ford realized that it is impossible not to scratch that glass smooth plastic and changed it to a more durable matte plastic on the 2012. The Outrage Posted October 6, 2011 Report Share Posted October 6, 2011 My 2012 Edge Sport uses the same glossy black plastic console panel. It is identical to the one found on the 2011 model.
