Candy Edge Posted January 12, 2012 Report Share Posted January 12, 2012 thank you so much Let me save you a little trouble with this. I had these installed on my 2012 Limited and watched him do it. They say to tie into purple and grey( I think) wire in the A pillar. That A pillar is FULL of airbag! You can find that same wire down by the drivers side kick panel in front of the parking brake area. It even has some slack in it to make it easier. tdubs425 Posted January 25, 2012 Report Share Posted January 25, 2012 Good evening all...I have a 2011 ford edge and I purchased these sill plates from ebay. I attempted to follow the attached instructions to no avail. I even used a volt meter to test power w/ the door and again seemed to have no luck. the instructions instruct you to tap into the harness in the A-frame to a grey/violet wire. 1-there isnt this colored wire-there is a grey and what appears to be violet and neither has 12v when the door is open. tlsanjose1224 Posted December 21, 2012 Report Share Posted December 21, 2012 I tried to install these onto my 2013 limited too. I found a wire that is grey with a purple stripe. Welded it together with the red wire from the kit. But when I tested it, opened the door, the led lit up for a little bit then shut off. Sometimes, the led comes on and stays on longer even after I close the door and all the interior lights shut off. I don't think it's normal. And how about that grey wire with a purple stripe?
