The NAV settings haven't been changed and there is no active route. Sometimes the arrows are displayed and most of the time they are not. rwolson Posted February 2, 2012 Report Share Posted February 2, 2012 IMO, they depict no traffic problems on the road and traffic's moving at normal speed. In canada we don't get traffic, so i'm curious to how your seeing it in AB, i've had my 2011 edge since Oct 2010 (in ontario) and have never seen any traffic on it, I know you need a subscription however since traffic wasn't available from Sirius Canada I never bothered with a subscription. M. I am in Alberta. Like I said its weird that one day out of ten the arrow images are on the screen and the rest of the days they aren't especially when I didn't change any of the setting and driving the same route. Spiff Sirius Canada did tell me they would start beaming traffic info. Yesterday was the first time I hit a highway since a week or so in Montreal. I too noticed the arrows; they are traffic indicators: teal for light/no traffic, yellow for some slow downs and red for heavy traffic. I've experienced all 3 situations on a 30 km stretch of highway. I was impressed with the relative accuracy of the traffic notices. I suspect Sirius Canada is currently in test mode, so we may loose this as soon as they offer subscriptions. Although I found this feature interesting, in itself it wasn't all that great for me. Unless you have your zoom level set at 10km+ to see what's ahead so you could avoid traffic, but I believe, as I do myself, that most drivers want to view half to one km ahead on highways. I bring down the zoom to 100m for city driving so I can see upcoming streets. This feature needs to be integrated with the car navigation system. The Nav system would get the traffic info and, assuming you have set a destination, would reroute you around traffic, as offerred in the States I believe. Spiff Here are a couple of screen shots I found on another forum, from a non-Edge vehicle. I can’t find these anywhere within the Sirius menu system, or MFT for that matter. I cant find these anywhere within the Sirius menu system, or MFT for that matter. If anyone knows how to display them on the Edge, please let us know. I'm a Sync Specialist with a ford dealer and teach customers about all the systems. The screens you are looking at are for the Navigation System that is on some ford vehicles such as F-150 trucks and Expedition. These systems are similer to my ford touch but not the same. Akerby has been around and should be able to confirm this. If you are looking for information on map version you are not going to find anything other than the info that is on the S.D. card. If your looking to set up navigation preferences you need to go to setting and then click on navigation and there are all kinds of settings there.Pleas gheck the following two web sights. wlepse Posted February 6, 2012 Report Share Posted February 6, 2012 I think what he is referring to is what the different colors and designations mean. The one screen cap from another vehicle explains the traffic info. I think having something like you had back on the old paper maps that would correlate say a red and white road is an interstate or a gray road is a secondary road.
