  1. Canuck, used the Quick Detailer to get off the pine sap and it worked great. Have a fresh glop and though picking a chunk of it off the spray took off the rest quite easily. As far as the little stuff that was left over after washing it took a little more elbow grease but got the stain off. Thanks for tip. Different topic. I guess I don't know how to wash a car  Why the 2 buckets? what is the rinse one used for? I have always just washed with the soap, then sprayed off the freshly washed area. Also, I see no mention of those silicone squeegees, IMO they seem to do good job on glass and also some of the flatter, large areas, then finish off with MF towel or in the past I have used shammy. I have seen no recommendations or mention of the old fashion shammy. Are they out of fashion now?
  2. I only have around 500 miles on the 11 Limited AWD, had filled up twice now. First time was from dealer pumped so did not have good baseline. Couldn't wait to check and so filled up this weekend with only like 110 miles on it. AVG MPG indicator was 20.1, calculated MPG came to 20.4. This is most all short trips around town. Not a ton of stop and go, but alot of up and down hills getting into town.
  3. Thanks for all the work and research Moveover
  4. I stumbled accross it playing around, I think it was by pushing the "i" (information button) when on entertainment screen. They call it ESN
  5. LOL, thanks Choff. I was just being un-funny. I work with Excel a lot also.
  6. wish he /she had shared the template instead of pasting in word doc. Now I have to build my own :-) PS only one fill up so far but looks like around 19.8 car said 20
  7. canuck I live in colorado, live in a place that is beautiful, but solid pine trees. It is that time of the year (semi-annual) where the pines loose needles and it results in a mist of pine sap. Long story but have no room in the garage right now. I did google searches and see everything from wd40 to simple green to bug and tar remover recommended. What is your recommendation?? thanks in advance.
  8. it tells you in your manual. For mine, a 2011 it is a something 501 as I recall.
  9. but other than creating a hot spot, what benefits are derived from connecting to the network?
  10. ok, here goes a dumb question...........I understand and can see the benefits of using clay bar on paint, but why glass?
  11. check out the thread in 2011 edge/ mkx forum piece. there is a topic on winter tires and at least one on size.. Would apply to the sport model also.
  12. at least this year I am going to give it a go with the stock AS tires and see how it does. If it does well then I am on the fence for next year, I understand how by splitting up use on each set they last twice as long, but gosh it will take a long time ( I hope) to wear these out.
  13. Interesting, boy you sure made a science of it.
  14. they are used here in Colorado by some. But Colorado has different Winter weather. We can get a big snow but it is usually gone pretty quick and you are back to dry roads within a day or two. It is of course different if you live in the Mountains, where snow is more frequent. I have not had them here, but also know there are laws that studded tires must be removed by XX date, not sure when that is though.
  15. One thing to remember. When I did some research on AWD, it was pointed out that ALL of the tires must be identical. So if you plan to use studded tires, they all have to be studded, at least in how I understood the statement.
  16. try pressing the little "I" for info button, I am pretty sure I remember it turning on and off the song and artist information on Sirius
  17. Wouldn't changing wheel size impact the ABS and speedometer/odometer readings?
  18. You could look at your phone and try to pair it to car, just as you would a bluetooth headset with the phone. Make sure car is running. If your phone does not find a bluetooth device to connect to, you likely have no bluetooth connectivity for phone in the vehicle. Next step would be to ask dealer. It is difficult to off any further advice as you have not told us what model edge, the options you do have and what kind of cell phone you are using.
  19. without them do you get any kind of low pressure error messages?? Can you disable the warning message if you do?
  20. actually the 10 day forecast here in Colorado looks pretty good, but despite that I expect a freeze or snow or something................because............my tomatoes are finally starting to produce and that always brings a frost. things grow slow at altitude with cool nights. :-(
  21. start and stop city traffic is tough to get good mileage.
  22. all of you probably know this, but for the average MPG gauge to reflect that tank, you have to reset it at each fill up. I had a fried once that said his Avg MPG never changed, come to find out he never reset it at fill up, so it was reflecting LIFETIME AVG MPG.
