  1. Anyone know or experienced the Navigation Maps when in Mexico?
  2. Is it with both keys? if so it has something to do with the system, if it is only one of the key fobs, then I would try a new battery. and No I have not had any issues.
  3. I put my good sunglasses (which are in a case) in there, have also put parking ticket (when at the airport) back there
  4. just guessing, but what may have happened is that when your "latest" version was loaded, they did not pass the successful update back to syncmyride site. If you have done an update from Sync there are 3 steps, download the update to thumb drive, load update in car, then come back to sync sight with USB plugged into computer and acknowledge the update was successful, I think when you click the update status button , the usb drive you used passes the status back to sync.
  5. you can go to syncmyride.com and your vehicle should be registered. When you login and go to the updates link, it will show you what is loaded and the versions. It will also show you any availabe updates that you may need.
  6. well if you are not going to "sport drive" then it may depend more on he terrain where you drive. I don't sport drive but do drive in the mountains and even areas in Colorado where you are climbing hills. I have the limited, but the select shift is very nice when climbing hills and you don't want the fully auto, upshifting and downshifting all the time depending on the grade.
  7. I just got back from a trip to my Dealer. Totally unrelated, but while there I asked the Service Manager about their experience with the update. He asked about what issues I was having. I have been one of the lucky ones and have very few issues and none recently, (sound is me knocking on wood). He said the update has fixed issues for many and created other or new issues for some. His recommendation was NOT to get the update unless I was having serious issues. He felt it best to wait for an update to the update. I know many of you HAVE had serious issues and I suppose for those, doing the update makes sense. Curious if anyone else has had a similar recommendation from their dealer. I was going to wait for a while anyway since my issues are few. Guess I will be waiting longer now. Only wanted to add that he said it MAY be fine or it MAY create problems I did not have previously.
  8. 2 other possible factors, first Is resale. Which of the two versions would have better resale, that may make the expense not quite as much in the long run. Second, is that Besides being better in snow, in my opinion it is also better on ice.
  9. I have no issues with the distance, one poster here says it works in a parking garage at her work from 15 floors above the garage. There are reports in this forum of it working to 300 + feet.
  10. Congratulations!! I haev one and absolutely love it. You will find that some folks have had issues, mine are relatively minor and I can live with them until Ford comes out with the fixes, which by the way there is one that is out with varying results. Very happy with the purchase.
  11. Congratulations!! Had my Limited AWD for about 3 months. Absolutely love it. THe car is one of the most fun to drive I have ever owned. All the gadgets do keep it different. I have everything on it but the rear video and see the value in each. Love the remote start, and all the radar features, Vista Roof or as they call it here the BAMR. In regards to the Ambient Lighting, as I recall it is standard on the Limited and though I don't switch colors very often, love the lighting effect. In terms of self park, unless I missed something, it is not an option. It has the rear backup alert and the rear camera that aids in parking or backing up. But do not believe it will parallel park by itself as some cars do.

  13. when I paired my phone the first time it just did it. I have made changes in my address book and noticed that my "phonebook" in the car is up to date each time I go to use it.
  14. anybody have any idea as to if there is correct sequence for updating?, i.e. do the sync update, then the dealer or vice-versa? or even if it makes a difference. Some types of software update require it done in proper sequence, just wondering if that applied to the Ford/Sync updates.
  15. I will fight paying for fix tooth and nail. THey call it a update but I have not heard of any additional functionality, only supposed fixes to bugs. Being in the software industry, we do not charge for TB fixes, only version updates that provide more functionality. Yes, version updates normally include some fixes, but it generally provides more functionality as well. Heck, even Microsoft does not charge for within release updates. ps this is the edited part. I thought there was a technical bulletin issued for this fix, to me that says bug fix.
  16. those of us lacking will be anxious to hear how the update performs. For me if there are any "real" issues resulting form it. I will be concerned about rushing into it. Being a beta tester for the 2001 edge is about the limit. I have been lucky so far, things work, yes I see some issues, but nothing that has yet been that important to me. Nothing like black screens and unable to pair phone, etc that others are experiencing. Let us know how it goes
  17. this is covered in several previous posts, but short answer is at this point nothing other provide hotspot within car for others to connect to internet. I guess there is some value to that in that the other users may not have ability to logon to your work WiFi. Not sure how the IT folks would like that though or if that presents any security issues.
  18. nice looking edge, body looks like it is in great shape, hope you get it. I have got them as rentals over the last few years, and that is what inspired me to buy one about a month ago. I love mine. As far what to look for, I guess the standard things you would look at when buying a used car. If it is from a dealer I am sure you are getting some kind of warranty. You may also want to ask the dealer if you can take it to independent mechanic for their appraisal of the car. Good luck. let us know what you do.
  19. yah, LOL, reminds me when as a kid I tied to help by wiring a light switch that had 2 on and off switch in different parts of the room. . took a long time to get that right.
  20. it may depend somewhat on where you live also. Living in Colorado with predominant amounts of Sunshine, I love the vista roof. Living in an area with lots of Vertical scenery it also is a nice touch. Of course it is still a new thing to me also. But I definitely like sunroofs, Vista roof is just a bigger version
  21. I believe that is it, Collision Alert uses the same front radar as the adaptive cruise. I got a chance to test that this weekend. I took a 100 mile or so ride in the country and had cruise set and came upon a vehicle going less than I was (I was within speed limit) and it did slow down and maintain the gap, when vehicle turned off it sped back to original setting.
  22. thanks Wilson, I ordered some about 2 days ago, would never have guessed it made that much difference, that makes me feel a lot better. and congrats on the Grand Child, the new Edge and the progress detailing it. Ah Life is Good, and you are getting a bunch of that goodness.
  23. This probably does not help you much, as I have an 11 model, but may for those reading this thread. I have an 11 model with the left and right 4 inch screens to each side of the speedometer. With mine it is done by arrowing left to the menu on the left side, then arrow dow to settings, choose Vehicle, then arrow to oil minder reset. at that point I have the option to reset it to 100%, 80% and so on. So unless they just added the ability for consumer to reset, you must have the option to do that somehow. Sorry I can't speak for the 10 model. BTW, Renting several 2010 models traveling, was the reason i choose to buy the Edge.
  24. In reading the manual, it does say for you to remember to reset oil life indicator when changing oil. SO unless that is stated in error or incompletely (needs to be done by dealer) then it should be there. In several places (Control F) it further states to see instrument cluster section. In the Instrument cluster section I do not see clear notes, but it refers to reset functionality. Will have to look next time in the car.
  25. the mats for the 2010 had only 1 attachment point, the 2011's have 2
