  1. Did you happen to snap any pics of your Edge after the PL was applied? It's good stuff isn't it? Removing the PL is such a breeze to do.........just like buffing air! Post up some pics if you have them.
  2. Don't feel bad. Mine was ordered on September 27th and I still don't even have a VIN yet. Oh well, thankfully I am not in a hurry.
  3. Interesting to see that the vast majority of owners so far are on the eastern half of the Continent.
  4. My mistake, I completely missed that.
  5. Relax, no need to get defensive. Just trying to help out and educate some of the members here regarding proper detailing techniques.
  6. The person doing the new car prep on your brand new vehicle at the dealership is never a professional, hence he/she really doesn't know what they are doing. Add to that, they do not use proper washing/drying equipment either. You might not have noticed any issues with your paint, however unless you know what to look for and have your vehicle's paint under direct sunlight or a halogen lamp, the typical person would not notice paint imperfections that a detailer would. I am not implying that you necessarily have issues with your paint, I am just saying that dealerships do not practice proper prepping techniques and can certainly damage your paint in the process.
  7. Actually, this appears to working correctly IMO. While I don't have my Edge yet, my Inifniti has this same feature and the numbers are extremely erratic depends on how I'm driving. If I'm stopped, the instant fuel economy will sky rocket, if I go WOT for a short amount of time, the instant fuel economy will skyrocket, etc. This is instant fuel economy, not average fuel economy, so you will definitely see large spikes.
  8. ^ Good stuff. Post up some pics after you get the PL applied!
  9. One thing that I can't recommend enough when it comes to drying your vehicle is to sheet the water from your paint. Basically that means to remove the nozzle from your hose and start rinsing your vehicle from the top down. This will produce a sheeting effect and will drastically reduce the amount of laying water on your paint.
  10. Good stuff, looks like an exact mate to mine (except I ordered the 20s), and we even have the exact same Eddie Bauer car seat as well. :D Pics are a little on the large side though.
  11. Great find Rich, thanks for posting!!
  12. Yep, I am coming out of my 3rd straight Infiniti and this will actually be my first domestic since 1988. Hopefully it will prove to be as reliable as my Infiniti vehicles and other imports.
  13. ^ +1 If you can feel a ridge when passing your fingernail across the scratch, it will not be able to be buffed out at all. If it's merely a surface scratch, a product like 3M finishing compound like richy mentioned or Scratch X will help remove it. While I would never advise using these types of products on an entire car, using them on a small area or scratch is viable. Like richy mentioned, post up a pic of the scratch and we can give you a better idea of what you are up against.
  14. Good stuff Carrie, glad to hear that the Edge is performing great for you so far in the inclement weather! :hyper:
  15. Gerrard, for your Edge, I would recommend the Orange Crush. For your other vehicle being Navy blue, the Hard Candy if you want a hard wax or the Rainforest Rub if you prefer a soft wax. Regarding the shelf life, realistically you can get several years out of a polish or sealant before it's unusable. The biggest key is making sure that it doesn't freeze.
  16. A lot of their waxes are formulated for certain colours. I use the Orange Crush on my current vehicles as they are both red. It looks AWESOME when applied. Another good one is their Hard Candy, which can be used on all colours. The good thing about the hard wax is that it's virtually impossible to apply too much.
  17. For the fellow Canadians here (and US members as well), www.eshine.ca is currently running an incredible sale on Dodo Juice carnuba wax. Dodo Juice makes some incredible waxes and you will definitely never see it any cheaper than this. Regular price is $76.99 for 250ml but is on sale for $21.45. Also, their MF Waffle weave dehydrating towels are on half price as well. Anyways, just thought I'd let you guys know. http://www.eshine.ca...ucts.php?cat=81
  18. Nice! We've got members from Newfoundland all the way to Alaska.......that's only about a 6000KM spread.
  19. Getting them to wash is probably one of the worse things they could do. NEVER let a dealership wash your car!
  20. Congrats!!! I've got a White Platinum on order myself.
  21. Doh, I was actually just typing up an email to a customer and her name was Julie.....just had that name on my brain. Sorry about that Carrie! If it makes you feel any better, we received our first snow yesterday morning. It was just a skiff of snow, but the ground was white for about an hour or so.
  22. Cool, glad to see a few members have been added so far.
  23. Just for fun, I created a map for all of the 2011 Edge/MKX owners. To add yourself to the map, simply go to the URL below, click on Additions--->Add Marker - Simple. That's it. http://www.zeemaps.com/map?group=190546
