  1. Not sure how far it is for you, but there is one in Columbus. http://www.detailedimage.com/Find-a-Detailer/
  2. I am not familiar with that Quick Detailer so I personally can't comment on how good/bad it is. There are a LOT of great QDs on the market. Poorboys World, Optimum, Chemical Guys, Blackfire, and Megs Pro line, Zaino, etc are just a few of them. The biggest thing to consider when shopping for a QD is whether you intend to use it on a clean paint surface or not. There are some QDs that have lubricants in them so you can use them on an unclean paint surface without harming your paint. There are others that need to be used on a clean paint surface only. For example, Poorboys Spray & Wipe can be used to remove light dirt, dust, bird bombs, water spots, etc, while their Spray & Gloss should only be used on a clean paint surface. It's all a matter of personal preference, but I LOVE PB's S&W to do a quick clean of my vehicles without harming the paint. Chemical Guys Synthetic QD is also a great QD for moderately dirty paint surfaces. I also really like Zaino Z6 and Z8, and Optimum's Instant Detailer and Gloss Enhancer for clean paint surfaces.
  3. Hahahaha, I totally know what you mean. Unfortunately for me, I like to keep trying new products for my business so my inventory keeps growing as opposed to getting smaller. You'll really like PB's Wheel Sealant. Greatly reduces the amount of brake dust and lasts quite a long time. You can layer it as well for added durability. Smells good also.
  4. ^ While using a regular wax is completely fine, it won't last very long whatsoever as the heat from the wheels will remove it rather quickly. Products like Wheel Wax and Poorboys Wheel Sealant are made for protecting your wheels and will last much longer.
  5. I mentioned in another thread that I would post a write up on claying. I started writing up the thread but then remembered a friend of mine, someone I consider to be one of the best professional detailers in North America, has already done a detailing write up on another forum. He is based out of Toronto and has some serious skills when it comes to detailing. So here is his writeups on detailing and caring for your vehicle.
  6. Nope, they don't work either Carrie. The only climate control features that we currently have are via the steering controls, which you can only adjust temp and fan speed. Voice commands are a no go as well.
  7. Yeah, I am sure it will be fine once the APIM comes in.......it's just a real PITA for my wife to keep dropping the vehicle off at the dealer. Plus, it's supposed to rain here tomorrow and there is no way she'll be able to prevent the windshield from fogging up with no climate controls.
  8. Ugh. The Edge went into the dealer for the second time today to apply the TSB. Not only did I not get the TSB applied to fix my rebooting MFT, my touch screen no longer works whatsoever. No navigation, not heated seats, not climate control, no back up camera, nothing! Apparently I need a new APIM module with no ETA on when they'll get it in. Not impressed.
  9. Here are the two products I use. http://www.detailedimage.com/P21S-M14/Gel-Wheel-Cleaner-P86/1000-ml-S2/ http://www.detailedimage.com/Poorboys-World-M1/Wheel-Sealant-P40/8-oz-S1/
  10. I use P21S Gel Wheel Cleaner and Poorboys World Wheel Sealant. Wheel wax is another good one, however I find the Poorboys World wheel sealant and a little easier to use. It's great protection for your wheels and does reduce the amount of brake dust.
  11. Yep, their website is a wealth of knowledge. I would encourage everyone to to visit http://www.detailedimage.com/Auto-Detailing-Guide/ if they want to learn how to properly care for their vehicle. George at Detailed Image is a huge wealth of knowledge and their service is top notch. And not that I get any commission off it whatsoever, mention that Shane from G35Driver directed you there.
  12. Claying a new vehicle is essential to remove all of the bonded contaminants (ie. rail dust, etc). If you move your hand across your paint surface and feel lots of little bumps, those are bonded contaminants that a regular will not remove. That is where clay bar comes in. It's like an eraser for your paint so to speak. I clay my vehicles at least twice a year, and sometimes more if certain road conditions warrant it. I'd be more than happy to write a detailed step by step on claying if the members want it. Just give me a few days and I'll post it up.
  13. The absolute best stuff I've used is Leatherique. Their Pristine Clean and Rejuvenator Oil are an awesome pair of products to have. They are a little pricey, however they are top notch. Zaino Z10 and Lexol also make great leather care products.
  14. I've used a lot of Zaino stuff myself and they make some great products. I've yet to use a sealant that is more durable than their Z2/Z5. Their Z10 Leather in a bottle is awesome stuff as well.
  15. Agreed, I would love to be able to turn it off as well. If the Edge ever gets stuck, it will be extremely difficult getting it unstuck with no way of turning it off........that I am definitely not a fan of.
  16. You must of experienced the same thing in your FX with VDC enabled didn't you? I know with my G when VDC was turned on and slippage occurred it would completely cut the throttle. Good in most cases, but there was a few times I had to turn VDC off.
  17. Carrie, you should leave a note on their windshield with the website address! :shades:
  18. Had an appointment today at my dealership to apply the TSB and get my synch updated. Just got a call from them that they apparently don't have the correct cable to apply the TSB. Ugh. Oh well, it's not the end of the world.
