  1. I personally haven't used Griot's Garage products so unfortunately I can not comment on them from personal experience. I've heard they make great products though. I can certainly help you choose a good car care detailing kit though. Are you located in the US or in Canada?
  2. The SD card does not need to be installed by the dealer. When I picked mine up last week, I never installed the Navi SD card until the next day when it was home in my driveway. You put the SD card in and away you go. No dealer installation is necessary.
  3. I received my new Edge last Thursday. In total it took about 8 weeks from the order date for it to arrive. SYNC definitely needs a software upate.
  4. Thanks for the info. So this software update completely fixed the constant rebooting for you?
  5. The reboot has not stopped in my Edge since I got it on Thursday. I had to do an 8 hour road trip with it yesterday and it constantly rebooted itself with the "performing scheduled system maintenance" prompt. It was especially annoying when I needed to use the Navigation for directions to a specific place. Pulling fuse #29 hasn't done anything to improve the situation either.
  6. Me too Carrie. It's obviously not what I was hoping for on day 1. I did pull fuse 29 and was able to have the system on for about 30 mins without any rebooting.........so hopefully that's a good sign!
  7. Just picked up my Edge today. Unfortunately, the screen keeps rebooting every 5 minutes or so and says that it's performing scheduled maintenance. It's extremely annoying. Anyone else have this issue? Does pulling fuse 29 help any?
  8. This is such an awesome thread for me to read as I will be taking delivery of my Edge on Thursday night. LOL :P
  9. Paul, I actually answered your question previously about using a California Water Blade. Basically, it's death to your paint, but here's my previous reply. http://www.fordedgef...dpost__p__44546 Also as an FYI, unless you are using Zaino Z-PC, you are not using a Zaino Polish. Zaino Z2, Z3, and Z5 are not polishes, they are sealants.
  10. Good stuff Rich, I've mentioned sheeting in a number of my posts here. It really makes a HUGE difference with the amount of water left on your paint!
  11. Yes, there is definitely a filler you can purchase, which I forgot to mention in my last post. It will "improve" the appearance for sure, but it's very difficult to make it look like new again.
  12. Chino Girl, like the others have touched on, clay bar and compounds are two different products. Clay bar is a resin that will help remove bonded surface contamination from your paint. Things like rail dust, tar, etching from bird bombs, brake dust, or industrial fallout, etc can be removed with a clay bar. There are varying degrees of abrasiveness when it comes to clay bars as well, so you will need to choose the appropriate one depending on how bad your paint surface is. Compound is another abrasive substance, however it's used to remove surface imperfections (ie, scratches, swirl marks, spider webbing, etc) from your paint. Compounds are typically applied by machine so they can be properly broken down. They will remove a very thin layer of a vehicle's clear coat paint.
  13. It's hard to tell from that picture, but it looks like it's a textured plastic moulding piece, correct? If so, there really is no simple fix if you want it to look like new. You might be able to "improve" the appearance by sandinng the area, prime it, and paint it with an aerosol can that matches the original sheen of the molding the best. Working with textured plastic moulding is not easy. If it bugs you that much check to see how much it would cost to replace that particular piece.
  14. Thanks. Yeah, I've only owned nothing but Infiniti vehicles since 2003 and they have treated me extremely good. Hopefully the Edge will be as reliable as all of my Infiniti vehicles, but we'll see. Did you ever spend any time on G35Driver? Just curious as I am an Admin over there.
  15. Can anyone confirm/deny if a portable USB hard drive formatted with exFAT is compatible........or is it FAT32 only?
  16. Got a call from my dealer today and my vehicle is now only an hour away. It still has to be car carried to my dealership, but my sales guy stated that it should be available for pick sometime early next week! YAY!! :hyper:
  17. Cool. my order went in on Sept 27th, so just a couple of days before you. Hopefully we'll get our Edges soon!
  18. Any chance you can take a pic of it and post it here? I would be able to advise much better if I can see a picture of what we are dealing with.
  19. We have been in the mid 50s yesterday and today with Saturday looking like it might get to 60F. I went for a top down cruise today in my S2000 and damn it felt good! Can't wait to do it again tomorrow!
  20. ^ Carrie (Choff1138) has been in below freezing temps for a little while now without any issues. I'll let her speak on her own behalf but I am pretty sure she's had no issues in with the cold weather.
  21. I have them on my Infiniti and love them. Comes in really handy driving at night on curvy roads.
  22. ^ If anyone on the forum can be a good test subject on the touch screen's performance during cold temps, it would be you. :shades:
  23. Scott, what functionality is not working or doesn't exist when pairing up an iPhone with SYNC? I have an iPhone myself so I am curious.
  24. Curious Rich, what was your order date?
