  1. I completely agree Richy. The doors on my G35 (and probably on your FX as well) opened up to 90 degrees. It made it extremely easy to get my daughter in and out.
  2. If it were me, I'd merge all of the current threads on the same subject into one thread. IMO, there is no reason to have multiple threads on the same topic, but a simple merge would fix that.
  3. Hahaha, let me know how I can keep the inspiration going! I'm here to help in any way I can. :shades:
  4. Hopefully soon Scott. I'll chat with my dealer in the next week or two, and if they have a number of successful updates under their belt I'll let them do mine!! :hyper:
  5. I haven't even bothered to contact my dealership yet about the TSB. I figure I will let them sort everything out over the next week or two and then book my appointment to have it applied.
  6. Agree with mleber and cirockets. No issues whatsoever with venting frustrations and so forth, however copying and pasting the same post into multiple threads is over the top. I realize this isn't one of the forums that I am an Administrator at, however repeated redundant posts would simply be deleted if it was up to me. Anyways, this is still a great forum with a lot of great members here. Thanks for all of the great information everyone has shared over the last few months.
  7. Can you tell me who the active Moderators are? From what I can tell, the only two staff members here are Staff and Staff2. I am an Administrator on a couple of other large car forums and this is the only car forum I've been involved in that doesn't seem to have active Mods. Edit: it looks like you are a Mod now.
  8. +1000 to akirby's post......please stick around Carrie!
  9. ^ Completely agree. The MFT in my Edge reboots consistently and I find it very annoying. Having said that, I am staying positive and think that Ford will have this fixed (hopefully with the recently released TSB). I understand some of the member's frustrations as I have them myself, however I just don't see the point of constant complaining about an issue that Ford is well aware with. IMO, it's not going to get things fixed any quicker.
  10. Good to hear about the TSB. I'll be contacting my dealer to get this installed and hopefully it will fix the reboots I've been experiencing.
  11. Looks FANTASTIC Rich, awesome job!! :shades:. I've definitely gotta try the Cquartz!!
  12. Yep, I plan on tinting the glass in the spring. Probably gonna end up with 30% as I don't want to go too dark. Are you going to tint your MKX?
  13. Hahaha, thanks for the compliment. Bring your Edge down to NB anytime!!
  14. Thanks Carrie. The MFT has been hit or miss. Some days are really good and it doesn't reboot, while others is reboots non stop. Hopefully the software update will be available soon.
  15. With the really mild weather lately, it gave me a chance get my new Edge detailed and ready for the winter months. I got it washed, clayed, polished, and sealed today. I'll be letting the sealant cure for the next 24 hours and will then be applying Dodo Juice Light Fantastic carnuba wax. Products used were; Poorboys World Super Slick & Suds ClayMagic Fine Grade Menzerna Super Finish Nano Polish Menzerna FMJ Sealant Poorboys World Wheel Sealant Dodo Juice Light Fantastic carnuba wax
  16. Yes, proper lighting (fluorescent and halogen) will reveal MANY things that are not visible in normal light. That is why every professional detailer uses them. If you do not have fluorescent lighting or a halogen lamp, direct sunlight is the next best thing. It's hard to say how the scratches in the chrome trim were caused though. It could be your washing habits, caused by the dealership when they prepped your car, etc. If you want to key a close eye on your true paint condition, pick up a halogen lamp like this. They are typically less than $50. As an example, here is a customer's 1 week old BMW under a halogen lamp. They thought their paint was in great shape until I showed them what their paint looked like under a halogen lamp. And this was only 1 week old. And after my work was complete under the halogen lamp.
  17. Thanks for the compliment. I am in the Saint John area. :-)

  18. Thanks Scott! Ever since I picked my Edge up last week, the roads have been a little on the crappy side with rain and a little bit of snow. Needless to say, it hasn't exactly been clean since I drove it out of the showroom. I plan on doing my detail (wash/claybar/polish/sealant/carnuba) this weekend in the garage so I'll have a better idea of what the paint is like. I'll also take a measurement with my paint thickness gauge to see how is measures up to other vehicles. I'll report back and hopefully take pictures this weekend.
  19. Yikes, let's get that corrected right away! :shades: Here are a couple of packages from Detailed Image that would be good to start with. George at DI is fantastic to deal with and their customer service is top notch. http://www.detailedimage.com/DI-Packages-M29/Washing-and-Drying-Starter-Package-P148/ http://www.detailedimage.com/DI-Packages-M29/Sampler-Towel-Kit-P345/ http://www.detailedimage.com/DI-Packages-M29/Polish-and-Protection-Starter-Kit-P150/
  20. I've done it to show customers, however I've never had to actually use it as I've always garaged my vehicles. And yes, you'll need to tape it perpendicular to the bristles so that it doesn't touch the paint. I use duct tape as it holds well. I can do this to a snow brush that I have here and take a pic if you want.
  21. I would highly recommend you clean the trim first with a straight isopropyl alcohol to remove any previous products before applying the PBTR. You'll see the results you are looking for.
  22. One good thing to do is tape a Microfiber towel around your snow brush making sure none of the bristles of the brush are exposed. And just to be on the safe side, try and leave a cm or so of snow so that nothing physically touches your panels. The remainder of the snow will likely blow off anyways.
