When you put your VIN in your account on syncmyride.com, it comes back saying that there is an error, and no sync is associated with that vehicle. I had gotten from cyberdman that my build date was supposed to be yesterday.... so this morning I hopped on syncmyride.com to see if anything was different, and YES!! The error message was gone! Looked around, and finally went to 'view updates' (it shows all updates that are done on your vehicle's sync)... and there it was... installation!!! I understand sync is pretty much the last thing installed, so my car is DONE, baby!!! Now the waitout for shipping. *dances around* Hope you get info on yours soon!!

Does anyone know if there is a list somewhere of the voice commands that Sync recognizes? Supposedly it's 10,000 words or whatever... I ordered my Edge 2 weeks ago, so I'm in that horrible wait-phase, and thought I might entertain myself learning some of the commands before she arrives!

After a little more googling, it seems that "My Ford Direct" refers to used cars... looks like this is a warranty for used cars. (the "something else entirely" I was afraid of!) :D Bummer!

There is a new (additional) incentive on the Ford website: $265 3YR/30,000 Mile PMP (Gas) MY Ford Direct Offer 5 ...anyone have a clue what this is? In the fine-print, it says: 5 Program #71846: Ford Extended Service Plan. Take new retail delivery from dealer stock by 1/3/2011. See dealer for residency restrictions and complete details. Is this $265 off when purchasing an a new Edge & extended service plan? Or is $265 the cost of an extended service plan if you buy a new Edge? Or... something else entirely? Wondering what PMP (Gas) means? I'm just full of questions!

I believe this is correct. However, my salesguy (who I actually have reason to trust!!), says he's been working there for 9 years, and has never seen rebates go down... only up over the course of a model-year's life. For what it's worth.

That's me exactly. LOVE the MKX grill; couldn't justify the cost-jump for the few things I liked better (cooled seats??... bring it!!)

OK, gotcha... that's what I thought. So it has a release, but not really power.... you had me interested there for a minute, as I love the power-fold seats on out Expedition! :D

It does? I didn't see that as an option, or I would've ordered it! I did order the Limited... is it standard there? To be clear, we're talking about a button that takes the back seat down & brings it back up again, not just a release button that drops them down, correct? Our Expedition has this feature, and it's nice.

Ordered mine today, finally!!! Chose the silver Limited with Nav, Driver Entry, BLIS, & tow package. No BAMR for me (I'm of the fairest-skinned variety... best to have more than glass between me & the sun; would be WAY too tempting to use it all the time if I had it! :yup: ). Now I'm in the waiting-wagon with ya... hoping to have it by my birthday.... that's 6.5 weeks, so it's possible!!

The disappearing $1,000 is back. It was gone for awhile (from the website) for me as well, but looks like it's back, along with the $500.

Yep! If it's like their other products, the adhesive is kind of like a post-it note. Easy on, easy off, no mess.

Really? I thought it was single-disk... in fact, I just checked the website & it says single-disk. Can anyone confirm this? (I don't have mine yet) Not sure about the HDMI port, but I thought I did see that in the SEL? One other item that the Limited has is the availability of the Driver's Entry Package (keyless ignition, remote start & power liftgate). I wanted that option, so it pushed me over to the Limited. Also, the exterior door handles are body color on the Limited, and chrome on the SEL. I think also that the entry keypad on the door is body color, and black on the other models? (could be wrong on this one, but seems like that's what I'm remembering)

I don' t have my Edge yet (finally ordered... yay!), but this is a feature that can be turned on & off. No clue what he did, but the dealer turned it on to show me... said it stays on until you reach a certain speed (6 mph sticks in my head?). So you should be able to turn that off somehow if it bugs ya! :-)

OK great, thanks! These replies plus a little more reading online sorted this out for me. I was still on the fence, but it breaks down to about $13/month over a 5-year loan; done deal. Hmmm... FYI, I don't think it has any effect on the size of the touch screen or radio controls. Maybe that was the old model without mytouch? The way I understand it, it's just an SD card that enhances what's already there. In any case... thanks all! Looking forward to getting my Edge ordered!!

In all the reading I've done, it looks like the Sync system will give you turn-by-turn navigation... a couple of questions! Are the directions audible, and do they say street names out loud, or just show them? Are the street names also displayed? (I see it on the system, but just want to make sure that's not the NAV system) How do you set your destination; can you just say a street address, or type one in like a NAV? If all of that works, why would you need the NAV system? Is it just to get the visual maps, or is there more that I'm missing? Trying to decide if it's worth the $795.... thanks!!!
