  1. I've never known anyone that "had it before".... when tethering was first enabled, the only option to get it was to ditch your unlimited plan (which I've had since day 1). Believe me, I *tried*. Really wanted it. Did a quick google, and I can't find any mention of unlimited available at anytime with tethering.... must have been a trick to it! Congrats on being able to do it, Wilson... you're the first I've seen! Well, unless you're jailbroken; that may be different. In any case, getting a bit off-topic here, so I'll let it go. One of these days I'll tether in my edge! :D
  2. Unless AT&T has changed something radically recently, this is incorrect. If you have the unlimited plan, you cannot get tethering; you have to switch to a metered plan. This is why I don't have tethering... I want to keep my old unlimited plan! Will be interesting to see what happens with their pricing/options when Verizon competition is in full force!
  3. This is true. $20/month extra for tethering, and you can't get it all if you're on the unlimited plan.
  4. Me too. I opted not to get it, though... wish I had now that I've heard so many good things about it! I just don't do enough highway driving to justify the cost. If your dealer says you can't get it that way, try another... I had one dealer (I called several when I was initially pricing things), try to tell me that I couldn't get a Driver Entry package without the Vista roof. Really? I have one now!
  5. Wow, really? This stuns me, as the sync & MFT are my absolute favorite thing about my Edge. It's a GREAT car otherwise, but the tech just pushes it into a whole new category.... wouldn't be the same without it!
  6. I've had a few very very minor issues with MyTouch, and my iphone won't do all the things it shows on the ads... but I knew that going in. (no contact photos, no text-to-voice to name a few) That said. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this car, and MyTouch. I would buy this car again in a heartbeat tomorrow. Got the Edge Limited with Nav, BLIS & Drivers entry. Couldn't be happier.
  7. Yowza... I ordered mine Oct. 19, and I was driving it off the dealer lot November 19! (Edge Limited) Must be a dealer allocation thing?
  8. Most of the time, Royal blue, with Purple as a second choice. Silver Limited with stone interior. (I love my Edge)
  9. Slow response, as I just saw this. yep, I'm very aware that's what it is for. I also know that I can't/won't drive with my neck bent forward in a ridiculous position. Flipping the headrest results in it being in almost the exact spot that my old Camry was (as in distance-from-my-head). I'm not feeling unsafe at all... but thanks for your concern!
  10. After they're uploaded, you set the one you want through Menu/Vehicle/Wallpaper (that may be a bit off; doing it from memory). Once you have picked the one you want, then to show it do this: Click the little "house" picture at the bottom of the screen & a slide-up menu will appear. Choose the one on the top that shows one screen. That'll bring your picture up! Unfortunately, you have to do the house/click step each time the car is re-started if you want to use the picture; there isn't any way to set this as the default.
  11. I feel for those of you with big problems... I really do. But the quote above is me in a nutshell. I LOVE my Edge. Only very very minor issues with MFT at this point.
  12. Let us know what you find out... particularly the definition of "lifetime". Life of the radio? (could be an issue with MFT having so many problems), life of the car? you? LOL Inquiring minds want to know! :D
  13. One of the VERY first things I did when I got my Edge was flip the headrest. I wear a high ponytail most of the time, and it just wasn't working for me. Saw the posts tonight about the Allen wrench, but maybe that's just for the back headrests, as mine came out & flipped fairly easily with just the button (both driver & passenger in front). Only downside is the pretty stitching isn't on the backside, which is now the frontside. Small thing to give up for ponytail freedom! :D
  14. They may not have changed the names (since those are normal channels... Love & 40's). The two Holiday channels are 3 (Contemporary Holiday) and 4 (Classic Holiday). Easy enough to remember for a month... I'm lovin' the holiday channels! :D
  15. Not really... it's actually kind of cool. It's tough to accidentally lock them in, but you can do so intentionally if you wish. If you try to lock it in the normal way (door handle bump), it won't let you... but you CAN lock it with the keypad (press the furthest two keys on the right at the same time). This will lock your keys in the car. If someone breaks in, they cannot simply start your car and drive off; once your keys are locked in via this method, the key inside is disabled until either (1) the door is opened with the keypad-code or (2) the door is opened with the other key fob. A nifty feature if you're at the beach or something & don't want to haul your key-fob around! :yup:
  16. So far I'm getting 14.2 MPG... primarily because it's brand new & I've spent waaaaay too much time with the engine idling in the driveway while I play with stuff!!
  17. Could be wrong (wouldn't be the first time!), but I believe I read somewhere that your name is on the sticker if you ordered through one of the "plans" (i.e. A plan, X plan, etc.).
  18. In case someone reads this thread & wonders later... the A/C on the 2011 model is fantastic!! I live in deep south Texas (right on the border), and I'm thrilled with it. Plenty of cold & plenty of blowing in the right places... couldn't be happier.
  19. This is hilarious.... I just traded my 2003 Camry in for my new 2011 Edge (LOVE LOVE LOVE it), and the Camry had this "feature". Trust me when I tell you, you do NOT want it!! The car was always locked, despite being safe in my garage, making it a pain to go get anything out of it. I locked myself out of the car on multiple occasions over the years; I finally got smart & put one of those extra-keys-in-a-metal-magnet-box under the bumper. The delay was so short, that I could unlock the car from the hallway with the key-fob, then if I got even slightly delayed on my way to the vehicle, the darn thing would lock on me before I got there! HATED that little feature, and the dealer could never figure out how to disable it.
  20. That's not the best, but will work if it's the only way! Still hoping there's a place somewhere to do it in the car itself; haven't found anything though.
  21. Does anyone know if you can input latitude/longitude coordinates in the Nav? If so... how, please! :D I do this on my TomTom, and would love to be able to do it on my fancy new car, but haven't figured out if it's possible. Oh, this is for a 2011 Edge with Nav. Thanks!
  22. Ordered mine the 18th, and picked it up this afternoon... LOVING it so far!!! :hyper:
  23. If you have your VIN number, create an account on syncmyride.com... it'll show the sync install history (including version). Hope you get yours soon... expecting mine tomorrow! *crosses fingers*
  24. If your coupon is like mine, it can only be transferred within your household... nice thought though! *still waiting on my Edge, coupon in hand*
