When I try to navigate to a POI in a city I end up with a list of POIs within a pretty significant radius around the target city, listed by distance from my current position. For example: I ask to navigate to Target in Hartland, MI. I end up with a long list of Target stores all aound my current location. The only way to pick the right Target store is to know its street address. I tried asking to navigate to the airport in Charlotte, NC which is about 700 miles from my location. I got a list of airports as close as 400 miles form my current location. Am I doing something wrong? All other GPS systems I have ever used will actually list the POI in the city requested.

Here's my issues so far: 1. System re-boot. 4 -5 times per week. Mostly on first start-up in the morning. 2. System re-boot after 5 min of driving. Has happened 2 times so far. Really anoying when the heated seat is on high and can't be turned down for 5 minutes. 3. 8in screen does not dim below default when headlights are turned on. Doesn’t happen always, but very frequent. Only way to dim further is to go through the “Display” menu and adjust the brightness up and then back down. I have my screen set to the lowest possible relative dimming level. 4. Bluetooth cell phone does not connect. 4 – 5 times per week. 5. Message that Ipod USB it is disconnected. Ipod is NOT disconnected. Pop-up stays on screen until USB plug is removed, even if screens are changed. 6. No audio volume control at all. Happened 2 times so far. Only fix was a forced re-boot (pull fuse #29) 7. 30 sec. delay from when the screen comes up to when it will accept an input. 8. Menu control for phone will not move past “redial” screen in the IP. Sure hope they get new software done soon.

I must say I am getting very tried of the Sync system sending bits to wrong places. Its pretty much like Russian Roulette to see what goes wrong today. Yesterday my screen went blank 2 min into the drive (white screen of death). Unlucky for me I had the heated seat on high and was on an important business call. Since I was on the highway, there was no good opportunity to pull over and re-set the system for a few minutes by which time I was sweatting bullets from the seat getting way too hot. 2 day earlier I had no volume control. Had to pull the fuse to force a re-boot to fix that one. Its pretty much Murphey's Law every day. Eventhough it does not stop the car from driving, it is a serious annoyance and if I could, I would return the vehicle and go back to my 2007 Mazda CX-9 which I drove for 3 years and 90K miles without an issue. I guess this is what I get for trying to support the US auto industry. Sure hope the software fix is available soon and actually addesses most of the issues.

Every time I access the Quick Dial menu for the phone, I get a pop-up for a few seconds telling me that I can store the quick dials from my phone book or call lists. I've kind of figured this out by now. Does everyone get this or is this another undocumented feature? Any way to turn it off?

My Sync system is "Performing Scheduled System Updates" every morning. This means that the screen is unoperable for the first 3 - 5 min of my drive. It only does it on the first morning start. The rest of the starts during the day are fine. Anyone else have this issue?

It was not the engine itself. Based on the tach display, it seemed to idle fine. There was no way to actually hear the engine due to the squeeling noise. I also blipped the throttle a couple of times. Again, the engine seemed to respond fine, the squeeling just got louder. Thats what leads me to believe that a pully was stuck. Didn't want to run it in this mode for very long because something was going to let go sooner or later.

Picked up my White Limited AWD on Saturday. Spend Sunday learning how to deal with the "Information Overload". Commuted to work on Monday without any issues (couldn't get the Ipod to do what I wanted to using voice commands, but maybe that is just my lack of talent). Commuted to work on Tuesday without any issues. Tried to start the car Tuesday night after about 1 hour in the garage and car made the most earpiercing squeeking sound that I have ever heard coming from a car. Did multiple re-starts within the next hour with the same result. Called roadside assistance and when the tow truck arrived 1 hour later, everything was back to normal. Had them tow it to the dealer anyways. So far, they have not been able to reproduce the issue. I think that one of the pulleys in the accessory drive was stuck. Well, the joy of owning a new Edge lasted a full 3 days.

Picked up a Limited AWD in White on Saturday. Car was ordered on Sept 9th and got to the dealer on Oct 22nd. So far, no undocumented features http://www.fordedgeforum.com/public/style_emoticons/default/yup.gif Came out of a Mazde CX-9. Seats in the CX-9 fit me better and the handling was sportier. Also, key card could be programmed to lock as you walk away, which I liked. Wish Ford had a Pre-lock feature like GM (hit the door lock button once, doors lock 2 sec. after last door is closed. Hit it twice and doors lock immediately). Just hate to have to wait for all passengers to open their doors. I have a few questions: 1.-The back-up camera picture does not seem "in focus". Its that normal? 2.- I have a delay from when the touch screen comes up to when it accepts inputs. I have not timed the delay, but tried to hit the seat heat button various times before the input was accepted.

Can anyone with the Adaptive Cruise post a review? I have not been able to find hardly any info on the function of this option. Cars I have driven in the past with adaptie cruise would take full controle of the brakes all the way to emergancy stops. It seemed to me that the Ford system does not go that far and I am not sure how safe it would be if the driver does not know when brake input is required. I did not get a chance to test drive a vehicle with this before ordering mine, so I skipped it. Getting a Limited in White with everything but the adaptive cruise and 20" wheels. Predicted build date is Nov. 1. Hoping that is close.
