  1. Tried both. No change. Still in the infinite indexin loop
  2. Just got an Iphone4 and have the following issues: 1.- Can't play music from Iphone when connected via USB. MFT says "Indexing Device". Never had this issue with my standard Ipod. When I plug my Ipod in it is immediately accessible/browseable through MFT. 2.- Music will play from Iphone Bluetoooth, but does not allow to browse the device. I have MFT V2.11. I have tried setting the indexing of the Bluetooth device to On and Off without any impact. Is this normal for the Iphone4?
  3. Guess I miss-understood a previous post. It sounded like there was a new option in 2.11. As you state, the speed compensated volume has been there since day 1.
  4. Under which menu is this new sound option? I have terrible issues with road noise coming through the hands-free on the other side.
  5. I have a Limited with Nav, first car for me with built-in navigation. My system is upgraded to version 2.11. Also have various TomTom models, most recently purchased a 550TM for my wife's car. To summarize: This Nav sucks! 1.- It takes way too long to boot up and accuracy is rediculous. When you plan a route before it has a good fix it will put you in the middle of nowhere and sometimes takes 15+ minutes to show you back on the right road. In general it seems to be over 100ft off when approaching intersections. 2.- UI is poor. 3.- Software is plain stupid. When trying to navigate to a POI it will list them in order of distance from your current location instead of the city you just defined. Try finding Target 50 miles away when its burried in a list of 30 Target stores with no indication of what city they are in. 4.- I keep getting Nav errors 5.- Traffic info is mostly useless since it only shows an incident, but not the expected delay. My TomTom550 will give an indication of the delay time and the traffic info is free. 6.- MFT seems to shut down at the most in-oportune moments. 7.- Voice interface does not recognize half the stuff I say. 8.- etc., etc., etc. What I just don't get: there are many good stand-alone nav systems out there for not much money. How come the car companies can't integrate one of these very good systems and instead create their own junk and charge a lot of money. I don't go anywhere without my Tomtom.
  6. Where do I sign up? Soooo tired of the constant issues that seem to get worse until the next software upgrade comes along. Just last week I had 2 complete shut-down/reboots. Took over 5 min to come back up and of course the conferance call I was in got disconnected. Also 2 Nav SD card errors, 6 times when it told me that my Ipod was disconnected and the continued terrible background noise in the BT connection. I'm on 2.8 and my car was built in 9/2010. I would take my 2007 Mazda CX-9 back anytime...
  7. Why not just post a link to the right thread if you know where it is? Not everyone has hours to surf the forum.

  9. When is this idiotic pop-up finally going to be removed? Come on Ford! Can't be that hard to include in the next software update!
  10. What detail would you like to see. They look just like the pics on the Weathertech website. I really like them. So much better than stock all-weather mats. If I was to change one thing I would make it a bit longer for the driver's left foot.
  11. 1.- You can subscribe to Sirius Traffic separate from the other travel link options. 2.- Yes. I thought I read that there was a user instll update available, but it has not shown up in my Syncmyride.
  12. My Verizon HTC Touch Pro 2 supports this feature. The phone is terrible in all other ways.
  13. Travel time is correct. Usually less than 1 hour. No change in time zones. This morning it seems to have fixed itself. ??? Of course, now the Sirius Radio is actiong up. Go figure...
  14. I checked all the settings and they seem to be correct. Mine is also off by >50 ft. Also tends to get lost if a route is planned while it does not have a good GPS fix yet. I've had it be off by >1 mile and when the signal came back it located me on the nearest road which happend to run paralell to the road I was actually on.
  15. My nav ETA is off by 1 hour. It would be great if I could arrive before I leave but unlikely to happen. Seems like my Nav is still on Winter Time. Anyone else have this issue?
  16. I think the wide low profile tires cause some of this issue. I had the same problems with my 2007 Mazda CX-9 with 20" wheels. The tread design also had some influence. Stock Bridgestone were the worst, Goodyear Eagle GA a bit better, Yokohama Prada SpecX seemed the best. My Edge with 18" wheels has no issues.
  17. I am sure that hardware upgrades will come in future MY and applcations to make the system function as intended. I would guess that Ford will not upgrade the 2011 Edge and we will live with a sub-par system with software band-aids. I'm curious to see what happens when the car is out of warranty (15K miles for me).
  18. The expectations of the auto industry and its customers is much higher that for other products. MFT was released 2 years too early. OK, its done and now needs to be fixed. To me, the biggest issue is that I don't know what Ford is actually planning. Its all rumours and then a new update shows up now and then. If I was the supplier of this system to Ford, they would expect a clear recovery plan with details on key milestones. I don't expect this kind of detail, but Ford should be communicating to its customers as to what issues they are aware of, have a some way to allow customers to communicate issues to them and give some impression that they are taking all this very seriously. Based on the last 6 months, I have no confidance that MFT will ever be fixed and the dealer network is not helping the issue.
  19. I agree that there should be some communication to owners as soon as a new version is released. It can be up to that owner then to act on it or not. I should not have to learn about when the latest release is available from an owners forum. This situation is so different from any other component failure on a vehicle. Its not like something breaks on the vehicle at which time I would go to the dealer to have it ifixed. The MFT has been "broken" since day one. Every update fixes something, messes something else up and does not address other things at all. It just continues to be broken and leaves many of us with the hope that the next release will actually fix our particular issue, which seem to be different in each case.
  20. If a cat is plugged then engine would run very poorly and would not just stall. A normally running engine suddenly stalling for sure has nothing to do with a cat failing. Seems to be common on Ford Edges though.
  21. Catalytic converters don't stall engines. Don't accept it back if this is the only thing they looked at.
  22. Well, I average 20 MPG, mostly highway but at higher speed. So assume you could get 22 MPG and the AWD has a 21 gallon tank, then you can go 462 miles = 760 km.
  23. You km to empty will be based on some average fuel economy. Not sure which one though since there is many different fuel economy numbers stored. There is 2 trip screens, each one with its own fuel economy number and in addition, on the fuel economy screen, you have bar graphs for programmed intervals + an overall number. My guess is that it uses some recent average, so your km to empty will fluctuate quite a bit. Fill-up habits will have nothing to do with the calculation. Fuel sending units have a lot of filtering to eliminate display fluctuations due to slosh. So adding $10 might not register very fast. BTW: Its not a good idea to "overfill". You run the risk of getting liquid fuel in your vapor lines which could cause failues to the EVAP system. I've also noticed that the tank will still have 2+ gallons left when the fuel gage shows empty (0 km to go). The gallons (liters) used seems pretty accurate.
  24. Photos are visible in the phonebook, they just don't show up on the screen when in a call anymore. Tried a new vehicle on the dealer lot and got the same. Guess something else that got screwed up in the latest update.
  25. Both are set to "on". I will try to delete and re-pair.
