  1. For the FCIM do you guys mean just the wiring harness / connector? Or is it the entire front panel? I see Motorcraft part WPT-1278 that looks like a connector with a bunch of leads and some heat shrink tubing. Just making sure that's what you guys are talking about. My climate control continues to false press and beeping as if I am pressing "Temperature +" continuously on my 2011 Edge. Here's the part I am finding, looks like it's the clip I highlighted in red:
  2. I was just driving home tonight and the hiss got real bad at a stop... then my car died! Now I'm spooked and scheduling service. Is it possible the vacuum leak could have been so bad it stalled my engine?
  3. Do you have any reference for the extension? I have a 2011 also and the brake is hissing and working poorly at slow speeds. Not sure the best way to diagnose or proceed from here. I have just over 100 thousand miles on mine.
  4. Just ordered the KYB rear shocks for my 2011 Edge Limited. Should I be concerned that the OE has different parts for 20" wheels vs 17 or 18 and the KYBs are the same part (KYB 349142) regardless of size? I ordered those for the rears of my car which has 20s. edit: nevermind, I followed a link for the 2010 Edge from earlier in the thread and didn't realize the MY. The 2011 Edge specs the same part for each size. Cheers!
  5. I was able to replace my plugs, PCV, and manifold thanks to @macbwt's video. The Edge is a little tighter than the Explorer, had to take the throttle body off (4 bolts) to get access to the manifold bracket bolt, and get enough clearance to snake that thing out of the harness. Also on the Edge, the wiring harness that crosses is tough--I was unsuccessful getting the plastic brackets out (I figured I would break them if I fiddled any more) so I slid the harness out. What is holding them to the bracket is electrical tape (!) slid in to the sides. If you loosen the bracket enough, you can wiggle the harness out of the holding. A well-lit look into the back side of the brackets will give away what's holding on. Thanks everyone.
  6. Thanks for posting. Doing this to my 2011 Edge tomorrow and this video's production quality is by far the best I've seen.
  7. I ordered the motor! Thanks so much tpm for your help and the detailed pics, I'm sure I got the right thing now.
  8. Thanks tpm. I went in there and got it to align much better, it's at least servicable right now. Here's what I ended up with: (click to embiggen) It looks like the white plastic clip got broken off--does anyone know if the plastic clips are part of the motor assembly or the glass? This part Motor TO 2/25/11, w/memoryRight is the part I think I need (passenger side, MY 2011 Edge delivered Fall 2010). The glass is fine so I hope I don't have to buy new glass (heated, with BLIS light) just for one plastic clip.
  9. Sorry to bump the old thread but I accidentally clipped my mirror on the garage door frame this evening and then backed back up like an idiot, popped the glass somewhat loose. The mirror seems to have one of the motor clips off (this is a 2011 Edge Ltd, I thought there were 4 clips even though the 2008 manual above shows 3) because it's adjusting slightly funny. Is it OK to try to pop the glass out fully and reattach it? I just don't want to damage it more than it is right now.
  10. The only things I care about: Send albumart to car from phone when BT streaming ( I think this may be a BT limitation with the iPhone though) Ability to send address / directions to car nav from phone or computer
  11. Well I've finally gotten screwed. I was worried about going to the Gen 2 MFT update a few months ago just based on what I had read on here... I used to have some problems but everything I was reading was worse. Now I have a radio that doesn't respond to any channel commands, and it's winter and my seat heaters don't respond to anything. SYNC will successfully interpret my commands, buttons will change but the only thing that works on my stereo is the volume. Gee glad it didn't get stuck on the '40s channel or something. I'm about ot take this POS back to ford. I guess I could try pulling the fuse or whatever that fixed the Sirius radio last time but this is ridiculous. I just want this crap to WORK.
  12. Yes please make sure you get a proper projectors and re-aim your headlights with the proper dip profile so that you do not have worse performance than originally or, worse, blind all incoming traffic. Thanks.
  13. I'm happy to report I actually just reattached the lower cover by parking with my wheels turned to the left and got into the wheel well with my 5.5mm ratchet wrench and loosened the U-clips which were still tight as the plastic had been ripped away. Reattached and it looks good as new!
  14. I have the UVS100, just released for the 2011 Edge, and I must say it works very well.
  15. Back during Memorial Day weekend I parked in a less-than-stellar lot to do some habitat for humanity. I straightened out in the spot and the parking block's anchor rods were sticking out and grabbed the underside of my bumper. As you can see it ripped out the plastic rivets holding one side in: I went to Tasca parts to find the piece so I can order & install but is it the Lower cover? The body panel thing looks like it's #9, but that's labeled "Valance Panel w/ 17" wheels". I only have the 20s so I'm really not sure what I'm supposed to get. The possible parts range from $25 to like $200 so I'm at a loss and would really appreciate any help. If I have to buy a whole new lower bumper I may just try to affix the bottom thing myself
