  1. I noticed the same thing! Keep your key in your pocket and all is well. I thought I was somehow hitting the button with the fob in my pocket, but I now see it's not just me... As far as the shifting thing, be sure to take it for service right away so they can get it fixed before anything gets damaged!
  2. I feel for you, but I can honestly say it's probably worth the wait!! <3 my Sport!
  3. Yep... 2.4... sure does! I heard it for the first time today!
  4. I feel for you... I didn't know about the $750 coupon in the printed brochure, and the $1000 rebate came out the day after I purchased my Sport. :/ Oh well... I was ecstatic to make the purchase without any of the above, so I didn't let those two bits of info burst my bubble.... matter of fact, I built it online the way I wanted (fully loaded) and sent the quote request to my local dealership through the build it thing on the Ford website. The dealer called and said they found one just like that in Philly (I'm in Silver Spring, MD) and they would send someone to pick it up the next day. (Actually it didn't have the lit up Edge logo on the door seals, but I can live without that.) I went the next day, completed the paperwork, and picked up the vehicle later that afternoon when it arrived. The entire process took about 1 hour from start to finish and I never once even mentioned the price or tried to haggle with the dealer. Frankly I didn't care I just wanted my Sport the way I wanted it and cost didn't come into the equation.
  5. Much like Windows... in my opinion and from my experience, it takes about 60-90 seconds for everything to boot each time I turn on the car. As long as I wait that 60-90 seconds before using anything connected to Sync/MFT then I have no problems... but, much like with my Windows experience, if I try to operate anything before it is completely booted up then it is either non-responsive, or otherwise tempermental until the next reboot.
  6. I have 2011 Sport and I start my vehicle every day from inside my apartment, which is on the 2nd floor of the building, with direct view (through the windows) to the vehicle, which is about 900' away at least, I would estimate.
  7. I went for my upgrade today. Now they're saying that they have ordered a new APIM and called me back up there to pick up a loaner/free rental. I check my account on syncmyride.com and it says: Type Name Version Description Status Date BT4T-14D544-AJ Gen2 - V1.8 SYNC GEN 2 IMAGE CI 1/26/2011 BT4T-14D544-AJ Gen2 - V1.8 SYNC GEN 2 IMAGE CI 1/26/2011 BT4T-14D544-AJ Gen2 - V1.8 SYNC GEN 2 IMAGE CI 1/26/2011 BT4T-14D544-AJ Gen2 - V1.8 SYNC GEN 2 IMAGE CI 1/26/2011 BT4T-14D544-AJ Gen2 - V1.8 SYNC GEN 2 IMAGE CI 1/26/2011 BT4T-14D544-AJ Gen2 - V1.8 SYNC GEN 2 IMAGE CI 1/26/2011 BT4T-14D544-AJ Gen2 - V1.8 SYNC GEN 2 IMAGE CI 1/26/2011 BT4T-14D544-AJ Gen2 - V1.8 SYNC GEN 2 IMAGE CI 1/26/2011 BT4T-14D544-AJ Gen2 - V1.8 SYNC GEN 2 IMAGE CI 11/15/2010 BT4T-14D544-AJ Gen2 - V1.8 SYNC GEN 2 IMAGE CI 11/4/2010 BT4T-14D544-AJ Gen2 - V1.8 SYNC GEN 2 IMAGE CI 11/4/2010 Hell that's not even the darn update that they're trying unsuccessfully to upgrade with... :/ The tech guy tried to tell me when I got there that there wasn't a new version available yet. I'm breathing deeply and giving them their shot. I hope I don't need to find another dealer after I get my car back.
  8. Does anyone know what combination of buttons one needs to push to enter the audio diagnostic/speaker test mode? On two separate occasions one of the speakers in the passenger door sounded as if it was blown (rattling/terribly distorted at any volume level). I called the dealer and they said that I would have to bring it in and leave it for the "audio guy" to come in (outside contractor) and check it out. I was 100% sure at the time that the speaker was blown, but the audio sounds great again in the car. I'm wondering if the speaker is blown but since there are 11 other speakers still working properly, they are drowning out the blown speaker. I have a 2011 Sport, which has the Sony 12 speaker premium system. I have seen such a key combination on here for '10 models and earlier, but that doesn't work on the new system. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  9. How long have you left the car running in park and had a dead screen? I ask this because just the other day the same thing happened to me while I was out. I was running several errands that day, and on the last one, I was waiting for a coworker to come out of our building for about 15 minutes and just as she came outside the screen came to life with the Sync by Microsoft logo and a bar at the bottom that said "Performing scheduled maintenance." This took about 3 minutes for the bar to fill to 100% and then it rebooted and everything has been fine since.
  10. BT4T-14D544-AJ 1.8 SYNC GEN 2 IMAGE CI 11/15/2010 BT4T-14D544-AJ 1.8 SYNC GEN 2 IMAGE CI 11/4/2010 BT4T-14D544-AJ 1.8 SYNC GEN 2 IMAGE CI 11/4/2010 Looks like I'm way behind. I have scheduled the install for the 22nd. I am scared though because I've not had issues like many others and am fearful that more harm than good will be done.... has 2.4 treated everyone well?
  11. I don't understand why this isn't an option with the Sport. I would love to have it and would have chosen it as an option as well. It doesn't make sense to me to not have all of the options available for inclusion on the highest trim level of the vehicle.
  12. I had a 2006 Corvette which also had push button start and the 'auto lock' feature. When you approach the car with the key fob in your purse or pocket the doors open when you push the touch sensor on the car door to open it. It would unlock either the drivers door only or all doors, depending on how you had it set. When you leave the car, provided the key fob is still in your pocket or purse, and you have the option set to on, the doors will automatically lock once you get 3 feet from the vehicle. This was FANTASTIC and I wish it was an option on the Edge. I did have someone with me as a passenger at one of the times I left the car (say to go inside to pay for gas) and the doors had automatically locked them in the car, so when they opened the door it set the alarm off... but that was rare. I still wish I had it on the Edge. If you opened and closed the door and the seat sensor detected that you got out of the car and the key fob stayed in the car the horn would honk 3 times when the drivers door shut to remind me that the keys were still in the car. This helped me a few times when the key fob was in my jacket pocket and I had gotten out of the car to go into somewhere and left my jacket in the car with the key fob in the pocket. I too wish the Edge did that as well. Oh while I'm at it... the other thing it did was give the actual tire pressure for each tire from the TPMS (hello Ford?)... Still minor things overall but with all that technology these things could be included in a future update!
  13. I have to agree! Several others have talked trash about it on this forum, but I am also impressed. I have a TomTom handheld unit that I have used for just over a year prior to purchasing my '11 Sport. I have never had any problems of any kind with the nav system's functionality, and the graphics are absolutely gorgeous. My TomTom One XL cannot plot an off of the freeway course from Silver Spring MD to Hopewell VA. I was always required to plot from Silver Spring to Fredericksburg, and then once in Fredericksburg I could plot the rest of the way to Hopewell. I had no problems doing this (with several route choices) using the nav in the Edge.
  14. Congrats! We have the same vehicle! I want to tint my front windows as well though and am too interested in what type of tint and what % did you use?
  15. Good Morning! That is very interesting on a couple levels. The 200 series packages are only relating to the SEL trim line. The ONLY package that comes on a Sport (which is standard) is the 400A package. All Sport models come standard with power liftgate as well. EDIT: OOPS... my response was valid for 2011 models only, sorry.... I just noticed you said 2010.
  16. Check it out here http://news.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474978861253 Doesn't say much other than mentioning the recall. I checked the flmowner.com website and mine is not included. (yay)
