  1. No thanks, I think I will enjoy the 'seasonal pep' here in the south...
  2. I'd settle for a 3.5L Ecoboost...and something to pump sub-freezing air through the intake all the time (I've noticed some extra pep in the throttle the last few <32*F mornings...and I like it...)
  3. Drive it like you stole it...sounds like you do...I know I sure do...
  4. So you spent how much $ just to find out it was limited to 110? Here's an interesting stat: my stock $30k 2007 Edge will do 111 mph (and yes I know for a fact it goes that fast and has more than once). Yours might get there quicker, but it's still not any faster....or maybe not as the Sport is heavier and even with the 3.7, I think it is slower than the SEL (we're talking stock, off the lot): 2011 Ford Edge SEL 0-60 mph 7.0 Quarter Mile 15.5 2011 Ford Edge Sport 0-60 mph 7.5 Quarter Mile 15.7 I agree though, they should put the 3.5L ecoboost as an option for the Edge. I might would be more inclined to trade in my trusty '07...
  5. HE does not guarantee us a tomorrow; reminds me of an old DC Talk song, I wish we'd all been ready
  6. Is that reporter as dramatic off camera as he is on camera... I actually take McGinnis Ferry to work now; did this happen close to that intersection at Brookwood?
  7. Interesting because my '07 got about 20 mpg on a day trip that I logged over 410 miles. It was a combination of highway and rural back roads. I didn't reset the avg MPH (wish I had now) but I would guess that the majority of the trip was highway in excess of 80 MPH and back roads at 65-70 MPH. Based on the time it took me I averaged about 52 MPH going (hit morning rush hour on the way out) and 68 MPH on the ride home (made sure I was after rush hour). I'm not light on the pedal either... Just noticed you are from TX...could the TX heat have anything to do with your mileage experience?
  8. If you can 'see ribbets', you've got bigger problems...
  9. I've replaced, I think, at least 3 brake/turn signal light bulbs in my '07. the plug definitely looks like it has over-heated. I've never had it looked at. Seen others on here post similar issue so figured it must be 'normal'
  10. I think it may have been the Curt harness. The hitch is a Drawtite which was available before the harness. I had it installed by a professional shop. I could have done it myself (and have done others in the past) but I decided to pay someone else to take care of it this time. When I inquired with a Ford dealer about installing a harness, they basically said they'd have a tech go to an auto parts store, buy a universal harness and charge me $200 to install it... Side note for any of you in the north metro ATL, I highly recommend Pat Rogers Hitches in Marietta. If you see a hitch with a red sticker and silver/chrome lettering, it was installed by Pat Rogers Hitches...take note, there are a bunch of them out there.
  11. Does your Edge have the tow package? If not, then you probably don't have the connector you are looking for. I had a hitch installed about 3 months after I bought mine (new w/o the tow pkg) and there was not even a wiring harness on the market yet. I had to wait another month or so for the harness to come in.
  12. I think I would look for a different kind of mirror or find another way to mount it...duct tape fixes everything... You'd have to somehow disassemble the cup tray and plastic panel, but even then there is still no opening below the headrest that I can see.
  13. That's the entrance ramp onto 400 isn't it?
  14. sounds like a good excuse for swapping out the mufflers to a smaller aftermarket version. Maybe you can have some rumble instead of clunking...
  15. Same here on my now 4+ year old 18s. No issues (knock on plastic...), oh and after 75k+ miles!
  16. No, actually it was charcoal gray...imagine that...I must really like that color...
  17. I'd try a local muffler shop versus a dealer. It can't be that much! Funny story: reminds me of an '86 Bronco II I had. Emissions weren't such hot topics then and we lived outside the MSA that required them. Catalytic converter went bad; mechanic friend cut it open and gutted it, and welded it back shut. It had the 3.6 or 3.8 V6 with 5 speed manual. After the gutting you could run it up the gears high revving 1st and 2nd, then throw it in 3rd and let off the gas; about 3 seconds later as it revved down it would backfire and throw about an 18" flame out the tailpipe
  18. Class II is smaller (1.25" square tube); Class III is 2" square tube. Class II —up to 3,500 pounds Class III —up to 5,000 pounds
  19. Best color ever...EVER! '07 was the only model year it was available.
  20. Sorry, I have not experienced that (actually, no I'm not sorry, but I think you know what I mean...). Do you have the push button release in the cargo area (only came with certain option packages)? If so, have you tried using that as a release?
  21. Here's mine with a drawtite: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/gallery/image/452-somethings-missingjpg/ the cross member is completely hidden. You have to be looking up from underneath to see it.
  22. Have you considered using your phone or a video camera to record noise? If it happens that often you should be able to capture it for playback. Just a thought.
  23. I have this one: http://www.harborfreight.com/500-lb-capacity-aluminum-cargo-carrier-92655.html It's sturdy and lightweight and has been very handy for hauling propane and gas tanks (and such).
  24. So, I just have to ask, for those with radar/laser detectors; how much faster do you really drive over the speed limit?? I bet my eyes have saved me as much as your detector has saved you... I don't have a detector and typically drive 10 (to 15) over (except for residential areas and school zones). On the interstates I sometimes push it a little more but we have a super-speeder law where anything over 25 is double fines and then some if the officer feels like it.
