  1. +1 on that. At the same time, maybe the system could remember your last screen, as in not always reverting back to the default touchscreen view after vehicle shutdown.
  2. I thought of that also, but the date is correct.
  3. I had DST option selected but no joy, time was an hour behind. Deselecting it put it an hour further back. Besides my clock being off daily now, having increased frequency of steering wheel volume control issues (nothing happens, then drops to zero, try and increase and it's ear splitting).
  4. Other than the occasional hearing test ( full volume up, then full volume down when using steering wheel control), things seem to be working good. So far, this has only happened with me in the car as I am sure it would scare the stuffing out of passengers. I have had the update for several weeks now
  5. You weren't mistaken, there was a post stating that changes were to take place this past weekend. All I noticed was that in the update and download section, the version checker file is a different number/name now. BT4T-14D546-EB Version 1.1 SYNC GEN 2 STATUS CHECKER is what is listed on my page.
  6. Assuming it was possible to add the nav to those vehicles without that option included at purchase, it would be nice if he could help with unlocking the software so I could go to my dealer and buy the nav SD card. A lot of what-ifs, I know. I just appreciate Mike helping out those who had the lighting issue.
  7. I would guess the same or similar location as to where the files uploaded from the USB are stored, or where the wallpaper images are stored (although that seems limited in size). Maybe using the flash memory? Sorry to the original poster for jacking their thread.
  8. My wish - the option to send the updates directly to the vehicle using Sync and the BT connected smartphone's data plan. It would eliminate the usb step all together. Like a microsoft windows update, it downloads in the background (in this case driving) and tells you when it's ready to install.
  9. Drevv: the grill looks awesome, thanks for sharing. I am guessing the shop painted in on the car because you had to use a rental correct? I might have to give that a try with Blue (named by my girls) once I know I can get the grill off.
  10. I didn't even know painting wheels like that was possible. Not sure why, because I have painted my R/C vehicles wheels in the past. I will have to look into that.
  11. With the price of an oil change around $24, I won't pay that much attention to whether the mileage is 3k, 5k, 7k, or whatever. In my Taurus (may she rest in peace due to an "ouch"), I never went above 5k, I just kept an eye on how dirty the oil was and it worked for 140,000 miles. It will be interesting to see what oil life I get from the computer. The way I figure, I am getting a car wash and wiper fluid refill and that's worth about 5 bucks right there, especially this time of year with all the road spray!
  12. Sounds great. I am thinking about going but having purchased two vehicles in 7 months, I don't want to get all fired up about the new Explorer, etc and then remember I am set for a few more years! I am sure it was much better than last years'.
  13. Happy to report everything is functioning perfectly and without incident. Well, besides this... While driving home in a snowstorm yesterday, I figured I would run My Touch through it's paces since I was stuck in traffic for over two hours anyway. Well, using comments from forum users, I checked and rechecked everything, all working fine. The last item on my mental checklist was the ambient lighting. All the colors were there on the screen, so I kept selecting different colors. No luck, it wasn't working. I turned the feature on and off several times, changed colors, no luck. I was starting to get the feeling many of you have shared about thinking the issues were resolved only to find out they weren't. I was ticked off at the dealer. All of a sudden, I thought, maybe it's not dark enough for the lights to be on. Looking across 3 lanes of cars and seeing nothing but tail and headlights gave me the answer. I looked at my light switch, and turned it from off to auto. The dealer must have turned it off. With the dash lights being bright, I didn't notice the lights were off. So ended my stealth-mode for the trip home. I had become one of the drivers I make fun at when seeing them drive down the road. Hopefully this will make some of you laugh like it did me.
  14. Just picked up my edge from the dealership after the BE upgrade, no problems so far. It only took a few hours for the upgrade. It appears as if the dealer didn't verify the install as syncmyride indicates there are unconfirmed installations. BE is showing up on the installed list. When I get home tonight, I will download the version checker and run it to verify, can't do it at work with my encrypted laptop.
  15. Thanks. I have had to do that with other car seats, but I will need to dig up the instructions for the ones I will use in the edge to see where the belt gets routed.
