  1. The MPG ratings always state "Mileage may vary" due to the many variables that impact it. I always check my tire pressure (For highway I bump it up a bit) and run with full synthetic oil and use cruise control a lot. Sometimes I exceed the rating. Living in Illinois there are very few hills so I drive on mostly on flat land. Winter blended fuel here reduces MPG by 5%. Fuel with ethanol added also reduces MPG (I believe?)
  2. Sticker 43,950 paid roughly 38K (X-plan) with rebates of $2,500.00. I paid X-Plan for being a stockholder.
  3. I have similar marks on my 2011 early job #2 car (Late February build). I suspect that something in prep (at the factory) or at the dealer caused that - Maybe runnung wires through the window to update the sync system. Mine is minor and only noticable under lights. Also that trim was pushed down a bit so I loosened the screw and it popped up right away.
  4. Go to Autoblog.com - search 2012 Edge. There is an actual road test of the 2012 with the I4 turbo - It will be FWD only.
  5. 25 MPG would be for a FWD 2010 or a 2011 AWD Edge. 2010 Edge AWD is ratwd at 17 City 23 Hwy
  6. I believe you vehicle is rated at 23 MPG highway for 2010 models. Therefore around 20+ is close to normal depending on your average speed, vehicle load and other factors.
  7. Not sure if they are out yet. Only change I know it the turbo 4 Ecoboost.
  8. I'm back to Ford after 14 years. Bought the stock several years ago so now I thought I would buy one of the cars. Very happy also.
  9. If you have the revised side-mirror design you also probably have the strengthened roof.
  10. Regarding #9 - Actually the switch to Job #2 was early February.

    MPG

If you live in a northern metro area the switch to summer blend will bump up the mileage also. My CTS is up around 1 MPG city this month.

Getting 17 MPG around town and 22-23 on the highway - 2011 LTD AWD - less than 1K miles. I'll be interested to see how it does after break-in and the first oil change when I go to synthetic oil . It used to boost the mileage in my previous Jeep a bit.
  13. I have a similar model LTD AWD with the 20" Wheels in Bordeaux red with stone - Came out of a 2007 Grand Cherokee Overland - This is mostly my wife's ride and she loves it - does not miss the Jeep at all. We just went on a 150 mile trip and found it very quite and comfortable and averaged 22-23 MPG and it's not even broken in yet. Like you I find the seats very comfortable. Looking forward to going on trips visiting colleges with our daughter (at least the ride and not the tuition) this summer.
  14. Along with the side mirrors the roofs were strenghtened. - From Autoblog When the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety first crash tested the 2011 Ford Edge and 2011 Lincoln MKX, the crossover twins came close to becoming a Top Safety Pick. So why didn't the Edge and MKX take home the prestigious safety honor? The soft-roading duo didn't quite measure up to the institute's roof strength standards, as the lids of the CUVs only withstood pressure equal to 3.5 times overall vehicle weight. The minimum score required to become a Top Safety Pick is four times overall body weight. Instead of waiting for the 2012 models to improve roof safety, Ford went back to the drawing board and changed the roof structure of both vehicles. That hard work has paid off, as IIHS testing shows that the roofs can now withstand a force equal to 4.7 times overall vehicle weight. With the newly strengthened roofs now in production, IIHS has now blessed the CUVs with Top Safety Pick status. Only models produced after February, 2011 can boast TSP certification, however.
  15. Its realated to supply shortage not quality. Your order may be pushed to a 2012. Edge Sport (K3A) may increase lead time by 4 weeks or more AWD (K4G, K4J, K4K, K4A) models have been built out for the model year and are no longer available to order Tuxedo Black (UH) paint has been built out for the model year and is no longer available to order
  16. Just completed a 150 mile trip in my 2011 Edge LTD AWD and averaged 22 to 23 MPH. I also have less than 1K miles on it. Overall I'm pretty satisfied.
  17. I'm a consultant in the industry for 35 years and have seen this all too many times. Microsoft is one of the largest violators. The good news is that the US DOJ is starting to take notice.
  18. You have it all covered. We've had ours 3 weeks now and we really like it. Looking forward to a road trip.
  19. Your constraint is AWD. I believe you build will be pushed to 2012 models begining in July.
  20. I have a 2011 Job #2 - Side mirrors changed.
  21. If you get a VIN and a "blend" date (released to the plant for production) then it should be built this year. I think 2012 production starts in late July.
  22. Looks like ordering a 2011 AWD is closed: 2011 Ford Edge 10-12 (A) Edge Sport (K3A) may increase lead time by 4 weeks or more AWD (K4G, K4J, K4K, K4A) models have been built out for the model year and are no longer available to order
  23. Ordering an AWD model may push your order into a 2012 model. There is a shortage of AWD components due to the Explorer demand.
  24. Thats good You'll have a job #2 vehicle with the revised (more aerodynamic) sidemirrors.
