  1. Thanks Hunter. I didn't even think about the frame side, I kept trying to remove the door side of the boot. I will try the frame side this weekend and see where I get. I have had the plastics off a few times and if I could get it past the boot, I think everything else will be easy, I think! Yeah, that wire would probably melt under the load, so I do not even want to try it. I could easily because I know where all the wiring is, but I am worried about starting a fire!!! Your install is looking good!
  2. Nice work so far Hunter!! Will you be putting in an amp to run the door speakers? I have replaced my door speakers and am in the process of setting up the amp, but am running into trouble running new speaker cable to the speakers through the door "boot". And the only reason I want to do this is because I am going to be pumping 60 amps to the new Boston Acoustics door speakers I installed and do not think the stock wiring could handle it. Thoughts? Any one else done this already on a 2011? (Same as the 2006-2010 I am assuming)
  3. I have not heard about that one...where did you see that?? Wonder if there are release notes out there...
  4. Hi All, I have a 2011 Edge SEL and would like to purchase something to protect the carpeting when hauling my dogs. I would like something that covers the whole area with the seats down that is custom fit for the Edge. Also, anyone have any recommendations on one of those cage like things that block the dog from coming forward? I did a search and there wasn't a single post with the word dog in it. Thanks!
  5. This is what he is referring to: http://blog.pandora.com/faq/contents/10023.html It is an actual App that Ford is making for the MFT systems, but it currently is only released on the Fiesta. No ETA on the Edge that I can find.
  6. It has already been over 100 degrees here in Phoenix 4 or 5 times now, and my Auto does the exact opposite of yours on those days. It tends to raise the fan speed up to full blast with max a/c for a few minutes. This says to me that it does use both sensors when determining fan speed, as akirby suggested. The only VERY ANNOYING part of the system is that re-circ doesn't stay on when on Auto mode. If I turn on re-circ when on Auto mode it turns itself off every few minutes. Sure wish I could figure out how to keep it from turning off when in Auto. UGH!
  7. Why would that be a SIRIUS problem? Sounds more like a phone specific problem. And bluetooth is a funny thing...it is sort of like wireless Internet. It works when and how it wants to because it automagically flies through the air, connecting and giving the signal bandwidth/strength to the clients it wants. Everyone expects wireless technology to be perfect, but it isn't, and Ford doesn't help themselves by allowing more than one phone to connect to the head unit.
  8. That looks like it will help me a lot! Thank you, appreciate the response!
  9. HI All, I am adding two subs to my Edge, one which is for a JL sub I am adding, one is for the 4 speakers I already replaced. I am now trying to add an re-q5 unit which strips the audio from the head unit and passes clean, unaltered sound to the amp which then does all the processing. I need access to the back of the screen where the wiring harness is, but can't seem to get back there. I can see the wires coming off the head unit (stock MFT) when I take off the glove box, but I need better access to tap into the wires coming off of the head unit. Can anyone assist me on where to start removing the center stack area so I can get directly behind the touch screen? This is the last remaining piece I need to finish my setup so any help is appreciated!! Thanks.
  10. No, that would suck, because my impatience made me get one now, and if that one comes out I will be pissed! :angry2:
  11. I have experienced a lot more of the lady's "convenience" message after going to 2.8, it is actually quite annoying. However, I have not actually seen it reboot once (other than the time I took the batter out to install a power cable for my amp) since the 2.8 update. Overall the system is much snappier, and I am much happier with it.
  12. I have been on 2.8 for about a week now and have been mostly impressed. All commands are recognized quicker, and the system seems less prone to slowness. I have also seen a huge improvement when attaching an iPod. No more slow song changes or freezes, at all. The one oddity that does remain is the on/off radio issue. Sometimes if I turn the car off and then turn it back on within a minute the radio will turn itself off instead of remembering the last source I was on (this also happens sometimes after a long phone call). Other than that I have been extremely happy with the update thus far!
  13. shiggins, thank your for this excellent review! I have been wondering exactly how the Lloyds compared to stock, and now, without a doubt I know, thanks to you. Any chance you also have the one piece rear mat as well? I really want to see how that one fits compared to the two stock ones. thanks again!
  14. I went to the dealer yesterday to get my update, which was supposed to be 2.7, but this picture shows I have 2.8....am I reading that correctly? As a side note when I was talking to the service manager he admitted his boss had instructed them to not install 2.7 as 2.8 was to be released on May 1 to the dealers. I asked if he had the release notes yet, but he didn't yet.
  15. My 2011 SEL is in the shop today getting the 2.7 update...hopefully they make 2.8 a self install release so I dont have to take it in again...or on second thought, it gets me out of work, so maybe I hope they dont make it a self install!!
  16. Tm, this seems to jive with what others are hearing about 2.7. I was in the dealership wanting to get my 2.7 update done, but couldn't last weekend because the syncmyride servers were down . Long story short the tech said they were releasing another update beyond 2.7, so perhaps 2.8 from the factory is what he was talking about. He also mentioned they were overhauling the way they delivered updates, which is why the servers were down, though that sounded like speculation so who knows.
  17. Oh, I agree, (and I read the whole post so stop assuming for me that I didn't, thanks) that the post has nothing to do with the original question, but why do you have to "WTF" it? Even though it is an acronym, the words in it are pretty inflammatory, and really are not needed at all. Just because I do not fill out my avatar or information doesn't me I am a facade, just means I prefer not to, again, an assumption on your part, which if you go back and read all of your posts, you seem to be full of. Sorry akirby, this guy just rubs me the wrong way (and other members from what I have been reading the last few days, not putting words in their mouths, just what I am observing), and someone needed to say something. Guess it shouldn't have been me on this post.
  18. Cal, why are you such an ass? Seriously, leave people alone. I have been watching you troll these boards the last few days and drum up trouble everywhere you go...stop being an asshole and move on.
  19. My 2011 Edge SEL without push button start does this as well in accessory mode. I wondered if it is a fan somewhere for the electronics. To me it sounds like a high pitched computer fan, of which I am very familiar as I work in the IT business. Could be wrong of course.
  20. rhpt, Congrats on the purchase! The mat goes behind the center stack in the little cubby hole which is lit up by the ambient lighting. Mine came with 2 for some reason so you may already have one in that location. Took me a bit to figure it out as well!
  21. I dropped my vehicle off yesterday and was told the servers were down in order to reconfigure the way they do updates, and to post another update, beyond 2.7. I didn't get 2.7 done because of the downtime, but have to come back anyway for the body control module recall. They failed to mention they had to order the part from Ford, and instead of doing that before I got there, they waited to see what they needed once I got there. Needless to say I was not happy.
  22. Hi Jaba, I too have experienced issues 1 and 3. Often times my regular radio stations, not HD, do not show the ID info, though in my case I definitely think it is the radio station because some do it, and some display it all the time with no problems. Also, I have had the disappearing text issue may times. Happens all the time in fact. Mine usually goes away though after I turn the car off and back on. I am getting the 2.7 update this weekend though so I will let you know if those have been fixed or not.
  23. Shiggins, The photo on this page looks like it is from an Edge (has the edge sill plate anyway), and as far as I can see covers everything, though pictures can be deceiving. These mats look awesome though! Will definitely be picking up a set of these myself! http://www.lloydmats.com/linksFORD.htm
  24. They are selling the 22" Sport wheels for $1507 USD on fordparts.com. You might say that is not bad, except for the fact that cost is PER WHEEL!!! Really? $6000 for four of those wheels? You have to be kidding me! This is what it says under the price when you add the WHEEL to the cart: Quantity Per Vehicle: 4 Package Quantity: 1 Weight: 46 If that doesn't clarify that they are seriously selling it for $1500 per wheel. Oh man, I think I fainted!! Or maybe just farted, or maybe both. Come on Ford!!!
