Rear view camera not leveled.
Victor Wolansky replied to Victor Wolansky's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Finally they got convinced that is wrong after seen these pictures and compare to other cars on the lot. I'm going to get a new camera sometime during the next century -
100 MPH!!!!!!!!!
-
Yes you can... Driving downhill and with windtail :-)
-
I'm not sure how Ford got those values..... I'm getting no more than 13 in city, and no more than 21 in the highway. And I'm being very conservative, starting slow on the lights and stops, and coasting when I can, and never over 65.

Where's our browser?
Victor Wolansky replied to juscruzn's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
I could not care less about a browser on the car, if you have a browser on the car, is probably thanks to having a phone with internet, I rather use the phone and not a dog slow keyboard of the Sync. Now I would not mind at all to have Google search as I have on my GPS, really useful. -

well.... took the car in, and after two hours of waiting in there, the answer was, we can not find anything wrong with it.... there i nothing to adjust, and it i just a degree off, which is totally normal, it can be off by a foot (his exact words) manual says that can not be trusted and that you have to use other aids to park too.... which I think is total BS, I have read the manual from start to end several times and it does not say something like that anywhere. look at the pictures, that this is off by about 20 degrees..... Now they ask me to take the car on Tuesday for the whole day... what really bothers me is them trying to talk me out of getting it fixed... the technician looks ate me like if I am a crazy moron... -
Well, about 750 miles already, mostly city, and I see only about 10 mpg when going around citi and about 15 if I hit the road .... I wonder how they got those ratings.....

Text messaging add-on
Victor Wolansky replied to LALarry's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
There is a "*phone dependent feature" everywhere I see. They went a step ahead of every phone maker adding that Bluethoot profile. If phone developers and makers don't have added it yet to their respective phones, it is something that need to be blamed on them. Can't complain to Ford about this. And it is not a carrier issue either. Apple and Blackberry are the ones that need to put their programmers to work to support it. Hopefully next iOS will support it. -
I thought tit was an option to do that, but I walked on the car and could find anything other than turn it on or off, the whole feature. But on the settings of the vehicle, the one on the left small screen, there is an option for the cross traffic alert, may be is that?

I don't think so, not at least on the settings. I believe they have to open it and manually align it. -

That is what I told them, I'll see if they do it correctly, if not, is there any guide on how to open that thing and rotate the camera? Thanks' -
The rear view camera on my Edge is not correctly leveled, when it is you see part of the rear bumper and it is a perfectly horizontal line, so I found myself parking incorrectly, which I never do, so after wondering what was going wrong with me, I found that the camera is twisted a few degrees, so when going reverse, the assist lines show me something that is of course, incorrect. When asked to the service rep at the dealer, he was like. Well, you can totally trust that, it can be like a foot off... which I think is totally BS... how can put something like that to not to be trusted??? Should I demand them to get it calibrated so it is straight? Or is being too picky?? Thanks

And because I wanted to spend a lot of money on gas :-) :banghead:

2011 Edge Sport My Ford Touch Issues
Victor Wolansky replied to jmironcow's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
It looks like you should ask to get the car replaced if they can't fix it, and get them to pay for a loaner and the first Month of your lease or loan if you didn't paid it in cash.... So far, you do not have a car yet... Why you should pay for it. -
Anyone using iPod Touch 4?
Victor Wolansky replied to Victor Wolansky's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Thanks! I just got an iPod with 64 GB, it works fine. Only problem so far is when using shuffle of all songs, many times show me the wrong art for the first few songs... But, we know already how Sync has his days right??? ;-) -
Sirius quality not woth the money...
Victor Wolansky replied to Victor Wolansky's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
It is digital, so there is no mid quality reception, or works or not. But what some high quality stereos have is DSPs that can restore digital compression masking out the classic buzz in high frequency caused by high compression, this just mask averaging the gaps on the waveform. I can tell the difference too. Now, this buzz is something you can only hear if your speakers can go really high in frequency response. For example in my boss BMW I can not hear it, but, his speakers do not have tweeters at the head height as the Edge have, it have them only on the door, and high frequency is very directional. If not pointed at you, you will hear only the bouncing on the seats, doors, etc. This can soften the highs, but also the overal sound looses a lot of brightness and presence. Try to listen to Sirius with Bose or Sure headphones... It will make you vomit. I guess you are right. They sell programing and convenience, but, how many people live on the road? Enough to sustain that huge company? I'm wondering if quality drop won't be one of the reasons of the company financial problems. I won't pay a subscription for sure. -
I haven't find a way to check it, but once you register the car online, you can check it, and also you will see, if it crash like crazy and works reeeeeallllly slow, then I'd does not had the last update, that as the dealer told me, is a recall, mine had it installed and seems to be working better, still slow, and the system still have many annoyances design wise. But at least today I connected a new iPod with 19Gb of music and the whole thing was ready in about 5 minutes. No crashes so far.

This big update only dealer can.

I'm thinking about buying an iPod touch 4, (latest one) anyone having trouble with it? Thanks
-
I just got them installed at the dealer, screen resolution is not great, but my son does not understand about that, so he is happy as a dog with two tails :-) And I'm happy too, because they replaced the whole headrest and this one, even if it looks identical, it is not as close to my neck as the original one, which was pretty annoying feeling to have that thing touching the base of my skull all the time....v :happy feet:
