  1. Our 2008 always seemed to get 17 in daily driving. Our 2016 MKX with the 3.7L gets 19.
  2. Did you mean the 3.5LEB V6 truck engine or the 2.7LEB V6 truck engine? The 2.7LEB is available in the Edge sport.
  3. I assume the software will be downloadable. The question is whether the usb hub requires dealer installation or if they'll make it an official DIY kit.
  4. Crash and emissions requirements have changed a lot since the Aurora was made. But Fords do not excel at mpg in normal everyday driving. I've found you need to do a lot of coasting where you get completely off the gas in order for the deceleration fuel shut off to engage to get max MPG. Driving downhill with a tailwind also helps a lot.....
  5. That's not normal at all. Even in optimal conditions (flat road, 50-55 mph, optimal weather, no extra weight, etc.) you'll only see 26-28 normally. Just reset it and check it again in a couple of weeks. The computer is normally within 1 mpg or so.
  6. You can hit the voice button again to skip the commentary.
  7. This one looks the same and has that exact part number. It says that part number works for Edge, F150 and a bunch of other vehicles.
  8. Next time it happens, check the phone and see if it shows new messages on the Messages Icon. If it does and notifications are turned on but you don't get the notification in sync 3 then it would point to a sync 3 problem. Are you on the latest IOS release?
  9. Check the inside of the hatch for a screw and see if it's tight. Might be behind a small removable cover.
  10. I've noticed that if you are on the messages screen on the phone already that it will not announce new messages. Same as if you're using the phone directly - it doesn't give you the new message alert while you're texting someone.
  11. They're only held in with one screw (assuming they're similar to the MKX) so it's possible they would move ever so slightly but I wouldn't say it's "a lot".
  12. I believe that color was only around for the inaugural 2007 model year.

    Named your Edge?

Car seems more appropriate than truck and crossover/utility have too many syllables.
  14. Welcome - that's a rare beast for sure!
  15. I would assume that they changed the usb ports on the newer APIMs. Someone on the MKX forum reported the current problem is with the MLB (major league baseball) app - no idea if that's accurate or not.
  16. Saying that you shouldn't abuse a CSR or that complaining won't help get it faster does not mean that Ford didn't screw up. Of course they did. I also agree that Ford should upgrade the hardware for free. But if they do then I don't think a $50 charge is the end of the world. The issue is the USB port and that requirement is obviously coming from Apple - Android is fine. So of you want to complain to Ford you should also complain to Apple.
  17. Also - knowing those inside details won't help you predict when it will arrive. I had a project that was at 99% with only one outstanding problem, but it took 3 months to fix that one problem.
  18. Complaining here is fine. Being frustrated is understandable. Blaming Ford for missing the advertised date by at least 4 months is reasonable. Bitching at a customer service person who has no control over the situation is simply not necessary on a personal level. Write an email or letter to Ford management if you want to complain - they deserve it. But don't expect Ford to tell you exactly the reason for the delay because companies just don't share that type of proprietary information. And don't think that complaining to Ford will make them fix it any faster.
  19. Have you ever heard apple or Microsoft release those kinds of details publicly? That is proprietary information. No company is going to release that. Like jmr061 said - Ford definitely screwed up here but complaining isn't going to make them fix it any faster.
  20. It's most useful to pre-downshift before passing or to hold a low gear when descending steep hills or mountains. I don't find it necessary to use in normal driving. I did use it while pulling a utility trailer in hilly terrain (3.7L).
  21. That's precisely what they're trying to avoid by not releasing the software until it's ready. That's so much better than releasing it with serious bugs. I don't think sync 3 is anywhere close to the first version of MF from a reliability standpoint and any new software will have bugs. Not making excuses just being realistic about it.
  22. They're working on it as fast as they can. They know it's late and they know owners are disappointed and upset. Complaining isn't going to make it come any faster.
  23. Nobody is getting blocked but I agree that was uncalled for. Anyone who works with software understands the circumstances and while it's frustrating it's better to wait until it's ready. And it's been known for several months the 2016s would require additional hardware. Also - given the limitations of the current apps I don't think we're missing very much.
