  1. They didn't in my 08. The crossover was in the door speaker and only one channel went to each door. That may have changed for the new models.
  2. It's one dealer - not all of Ford. I'm sure they'll resolve it soon.
  3. No idea. They're typically sold as part of a component speaker kit - that's why I recommended switching to components.
  4. Yes, you'll need a crossover if you want to keep the factory tweeters. The factory door speakers have the crossover built-in. What you should have done for the fronts is to get a 5.25 or 6.5 component kit which includes a new tweeter and the crossovers. You might want to consider sending back the 5x7s and going with a component setup. Otherwise you'll have to ditch the factory tweeters or add crossovers to filter out the lower frequencies from the tweeter feed.
  5. Consistent outside wear is usually alignment and since that was recently done it should be ok. Cupping or scalloping would indicate a suspension problem.
  6. And cross them when you move the backs to the front (right rear to left front, left rear to right front). I just did mine this weekend because I thought I needed brake pads and/or wheel bearings. Turns out the brakes have a lot of material left all the way around (38K miles) and the noise was from a bad tire, not the wheel bearing.
  7. Why do you have LCDs behind the 2nd row? How many do you have total?
  8. I don't blame you one bit - just pointing out that it's common and there are no warranty issues.
  9. If it was damaged in transit then Ford does the repair and it's all covered. In fact these types of repairs happen all the time both at the factory and at the dealership and the customer is none the wiser.
  10. Yes - Technical Service Bulletin. Have the dealer check it against the repair they made.
  11. Actually that's correct. They don't have to get you a new car. They don't have to sell you one at all. BUT - you also don't have to take a car that you don't want and they're not allowed to keep your deposit. I would suggest checking a price at another dealer (including trade-in) so you know whether you can call their bluff on the trade-in. I agree they should probably eat it but that's their decision.
  12. Because it's several months older with more mileage........ It does make sense even if it wasn't your fault that it got delayed that long. In the end she needs to determine if it's better to start over at another dealer or stick this one out.
  13. They haven't been able to say that (truthfully) at any time in the last year. Ford has put out at least 4 and maybe as many as 7 new software releases in the last 12 months attempting to stabilize the current system. Anybody who says they weren't trying is either ignorant or trolling.
  14. Nothing wrong with the OS. It's just a complete rewrite of the application.

    Oil Change

If you're looking for more protection for the engine then you need a regular paper OEM filter, not the K&N. Not that I think it's a significant difference, but the K&N does let through more smaller particles.
  16. Why don't you look for yourself? It's on the Ford website. http://www.ford.com/crossovers/edge/compare-models/?models=limited|sport#categoryInterior_Features It says Universal Garage Door Opener is standard on both the Limited and Sport for 2012.
  17. Some as early as January, others late spring and summer. Definitely not required to wait until Fall.
  18. We told you so........ This looks like an excellent upgrade and much simpler to understand.
  19. I agree the newer paint is more susceptible to rock chips on the front edges - I was really saying there's no need to cover the doors, quarter panels, etc. because they're not likely to get rock chips.
  20. The search function is your friend. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/7194-weak-ac-fan-blower-how-to-clean-filter/page__p__57547__hl__%2Bcabin+%2Bfilter__fromsearch__1#entry57547
  21. Soft is still a relative term. The paint isn't going to flake off like tissue paper if you touch it.
  22. Replace or clean the air filter behind the glovebox.
  23. Exactly! It's not like paint is fragile. The chances of getting damaged paint anywhere but the front or the side mirrors outside of an accident is extremely minor and not worth the money or the hassle.
  24. The accelerator assembly is the actual gas pedal. It has a sensor that determines how far you've pressed it and transmits that to the computer who then sends the command to the engine to change throttle position. It's just like a video game controller. In other words.........ETC. I win! When do I pick up my prize?
