  1. Now I'm confused. If the fog was on the inside then how would running the wipers help?
  2. The defroster only clears fog from the inside of the windshield. To help with Fog and Frost on the outside it has to actually heat up the windshield. When you hit the Defrost button, turn the blower on high and the temp all the way to max (90).
  3. I didn't say you badgered anyone or what we said was right or wrong. You had a problem that COULD have been a bad battery but you dismissed it only because you had changed the battery and checked voltage - which is not enough to rule out a bad battery. You need to do a load test. The point was you weren't very receptive to the help that was offered and you haven't bothered to offer help to anyone else these last few months - yet you have the nerve to complain because nobody is answering your questions. I'm just suggesting you're more likely to get help in the future if you're a little nicer about it. BTW - what was the problem back in April?
  4. When you asked for help back in April with your battery, several people offered help but all you did was argue with us that we were wrong. I don't see any posts where you've helped other people asking questions. Sometimes you get what you give.
  5. That doesn't make it terrible, especially when that's more than the V8 Explorer was putting out just a decade ago.
  6. Probably sends GPS coordinates bypassing the internal address/poi database.
  7. What's terrible about a 290 hp?
  8. 3.5L Ecoboost is on the Taurus, Flex, MKS, MKT and F150. 2.0L Ecoboost is on the Edge, Explorer and upcoming Focus ST.
  9. That's the only one offered.
  10. There is only one button - it has to cycle through all the available inputs to access all of them. Do you use navigation all the time? We leave ours on Media unless we're actually using the navigation, so all you have to do is reach over and hit the right button. Which is exactly what you have to do with a traditional radio that has hard buttons. It's exactly the same. And 2 button presses (Media, then source) is not 8-10.
  11. Obviously Ford allowed themselves to be snowed by BSQUARE. I don't think they've ever done anything as big and complicated as MFT and I'm sure they bought whatever BSQUARE was selling them. Now they know better. Live and learn.
  12. Look - you guys weren't here last Fall/Winter right after the Edge debuted with all these problems so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. We've already been through the discussions on who's having problems and who isn't and what Ford should or shouldn't do about it. It's been debated back and forth ad infinitum and there's no reason to start it all over again - especially when Ford is actually announcing good news for a change.
  13. Because they couldn't possibly just be advertising Sync, right? Why would they include an error in a commercial? Give it a rest please.
  14. Do not start questioning or attacking people that say they've had no problems. Otherwise they won't post at all and there is no reason to have this thread.
  15. For you. For others it made it more stable. Look - you guys that are having problems have every right to complain. But don't make blanket statements about what other people are or are not experiencing. We've been through this before and I'll close the thread if you keep going there.
  16. They screwed up big time and they're fixing it. I don't understand how a public or personal apology is going to change anything. Had they ignored the problems and not done anything to try and fix them that would be a different story. I don't understand what you guys want or why.
  17. Yes they have. Multiple times. One of the main complaints was that the system was slow. Therefore a performance increase would be an upgrade. Of course they're going to put positive PR spin on it but Ford isn't hiding anything here. Give it a rest.
  18. The point was simply that there are people out there who have had either no or only minor issues with MFT. They are noted in that thread and I've seen them on other threads and forums for other vehicles. IN NO WAY does this minimize Ford's screwup. It just means that these problems do not affect EVERY SINGLE Edge with MFT nor is EVERY owner dissatisfied. Ford is paying the price in dissatisfied customers and bad press. They're also paying the price by having to do a total rewrite within a year. They totally screwed up and customers with problems have every right to be upset. And Ford is making every effort to fix the problem permanently. No need to exaggerate just because you're upset.
  19. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/7451-is-anyone-satisfied-with-their-edge/ Nick the moderator over on blueovalforums.com
  20. There is an entire thread of people who have had little or no problems with their MFT systems. I know others on other forums as well. It's not a universal failure and there are satisfied owners out there. I'm not defending Ford - just trying to keep the reality in perspective.
  21. Simple - the old one was written by BSQUARE using Flash. The new one was written by Ford and Microsoft and doesn't use Flash. It's totally new, more efficient software. The old software - at one point - had 1500 bugs. Never should have been released but the new Edge was fully dependent on it so Ford took a gamble they could stabilize it within a couple of months. They lost and they're paying the price.
  22. Nope - they're permanently attached and the wheel underneath is not finished.
