The fuse box should have both switched and unswitched circuits. rjkasprzak - how were you testing them? -
Just to be clear here - these are 2 different promotions: conquest cash does not require a coupon but may only be available in certain areas. The coupon is an extra discount only available to those who received a coupon in the mail.

The kbb pricing is accurate for the items listed and the dealer is giving you the correct invoice price. There are at least 2 things that are on the actual invoice that aren't listed in kbb, edmunds or any other place: Advertising and Fuel. The fuel charge is just enough gas to get it on and off the delivery truck and it's usually just a few bucks, but it does fluctuate with gas prices. The other is a fee paid to local dealer associations to help with local advertising. It also fluctuates by vehicle and by location - it's not a fixed charge on all vehicles. It averages around $400 from what I've seen. Because of the variability of these charges they can't be accurately represented by kbb or edmunds or anyone else. So just add $400 or $450 to the kbb pricing and you'll be very close.

The operation of the transmission is explained in detail in the owner's manual. There is no manual shift capability if that's what you're asking but there are a couple of ways to keep the tranny in a lower gear.
-
The 2 may be unrelated. ABS light is typically a wheel sensor but that doesn't usually make noise. Dealer should be able to diagnose and fix it easily.

You only get a sticker if someone else changes your oil. And they usually use a 3,000 mile interval. You only need to change it every 7,500 miles.

That was exactly what I was talking about. You can't compare one piece of the cost by itself. Add the tax and interest savings on top of the $2000 allowance and you're at least breaking even, maybe even slightly ahead. That's why I said you needed to compare a current identical vehicle with the same lease parameters to really find out if it's cheaper.

That is an additional rebate on top of the regular rebate and regular Bonus Cash. It's usually called Ford Credit Bonus Cash.

Nothing, since I haven't bought one yet. But I use motorcraft 5W-20 in my Fusion and Aviator and that's what I'll use in the Edge/MKX. We'll probably be buying later this year. The factory 5W-20 is a synthetic blend and I haven't seen a compelling reason to switch to anything else.

I was just trying to point out that it wasn't quite as bad as you estimated initially. It sucks but this happens all the time with anything you buy. I don't know of any auto mfrs that give you a price guarantee. It could have just as easily gone up instead of down.

$65/month is only $2,340 over a 36 month lease so that's your out of pocket difference, not $3K. Unless you compared an identical vehicle to yours you don't know for sure whether the interest rate was the only change. They could have lowered the residual value and/or the incentives which would offset the interest rate change. Not saying they did or didn't, just that you can't go by the interest rate alone. Edit - I just noticed you said $2800 in interest paid over the term but only $65/month - but that's not how it's calculated. The interest is a fixed monthly charge. In this case: (vehicle cost + residual value) * money factor The money factor for 6.1% is 0.00254 (6.1/2400). The money factor for 3.1% is 0.00129. If you assume a vehicle cost of $30K and residual of $15K you get interest charges of $114.30 at 6.1% and $58.05 at 3.1% for a difference of $56.25 per month - fixed.
-
There is no price or financing guarantee, so you're stuck. But don't assume you got a worse deal, there are other factors involved such as the cost of the vehicle itself. I also don't know exactly how the interest rates work on a Lease, but I seriously doubt there is a $100/month difference in the lease price from one month to the next based on the interest rate change. In any case, it's water under the bridge now so don't worry about it.

It's just an extra rebate that was added later. It may have a different expiration date.

Probably, but remember the part about it taking a few thousand miles to loosen up.
-
The 3.5L takes a few thousand miles to loosen up. Plus it's winter and the winter fuels suck. Should be a lot better in a few months.

They should be replacing the PTU although it might take awhile to order one.

Possible, but the Edge and Flex are built on 2 different platforms (Edge/MKX/Fusion/Milan/MKZ - CD3, Taurus/Sable/Taurus X/Flex - D3).

Have you tried turning off the automatic phone book download? That's worked for some. -
Please don't post the same question twice in different topics. You should also start your own topic rather than hijack someone else's topic.

I just answered the same question in a different topic because it was posted twice. Please do not post the same question multiple times in different topics.

The mirrors usually turn on with the defroster and I don't remember the Edge or MKX having rain sensing wipers (although my 200 Lincoln LS did and they were great). Check out the owner's manual online in case it didn't come with one: https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/owne...als/default.asp They are also listed here on this site (somewhere). My take on the extended warranty is if you can afford to pay cash for one (rather than finance it with the vehicle) then you can probably afford to pay for a repair and in the long run you'll come out ahead not buying any warranties. You may have the longer powertrain warranty (I assume you're Canadian and I don't know if the warranty is different) so check that. And make sure if you do buy one that it's a Ford ESP and not a third party.

Louder - sure. Clearer - not so sure. I know some audiophiles who say the THX system is one of the best they've heard. If you're talking about being clear at extremely high volume levels then that's probably correct since the THX system is built for sound quality, not for decibels.

Sure. Crutchfield provides instructions on how to add an amp to a stock system.

Everything you're asking can be answered at the Ford website: http://www.fordvehicles.com/crossovers/edge/ You can build and price an Edge with the options you want and you can see the EPA fuel mileage estimates for both the AWD and FWD. You can also see the current incentives on the 2007 and 2008 models (the only reason a 2007 would be significantly cheaper is due to the factory rebates). Can't help you with the AWD decision other than it does help in snow and you definitely get snow. Whether it's worth it or not is up to you.

NAV Install, Factory v. Dealership, OEM system.

I don't think so.
