  1. On my 2012 Edge, Rain-X and Bosch were direct replacement. On my 2016, I had to use one of the adapters that came with the blades. It's the first time I ever had to do that, so it took me 15 minutes to figure how to install the adapters but 2 seconds to snap them on the arms.
  2. I'm using Rain-X Latitude based on reviews for winter wipers. They're good but not extraordinary. The clip is very big compared to original wipers. Streaks are noticeable on colder rainy days. They can be very noisy and chattering below 0C (like most brands) I used Bosch Icon in the past and was quite satisfied. I agree about Aquapel treatment being better than Rain-X.
  3. The automatic settings are explained in the owner's manual, page 131. 《Automatic Settings In hot weather, the system is set to 72°F (22°C). The cooled seats are set to high (if available, and selected to AUTO in the information display). In moderate weather, the system either heats or cools (based on previous settings). The rear defroster, heated mirrors and heated seats do not automatically turn on. In cold weather, the system is set to 72°F (22°C). The heated seats are set to high (if available, and selected to AUTO in the information display). The rear defroster and heated mirrors automatically turn on.》 The manual settings are explained on page 130.
  4. Just picked up my Edge back at the dealership. Back glass was replaced under warranty. No charge. Haven't thoroughly inspected yet but seems like they did a good job.
  5. I went today to my dealership to pick up a courtesy vehicle. The person at the counter told me it's the 3rd rear glass breakage this week. Apparently, Ford would proceed with a recall on recent models to fix the rear defrost electrical connection, potentially causing the rear glass breakage. Still no confirmation from Ford on warranty coverage but it's looking good.
  6. jb, same thing happened to me last Saturday (see "rear window shattered today"). My dealership's service dep't told me today it's the first time they saw or even heard about that (yeah, right!); so they don't know if it's covered by the warranty or not (they said likely yes, but need confirmation from Ford). Same here: back glass is back order. I don't understand that!!!
  7. Thanks. I already contacted my insurance company to open a claim file.
  8. My rear window exploded yesterday morning on my street, as I was slowly taking off. I had remote-started the car and let it run for 5-10 minutes. I then brushed the light snow off from my windshield and windows. Everything looked good back then. It was -7C outside. Since the dealership was closed, I called a car glass company who graciously cleaned up most of the mess and installed a temporary plastic until I can make it to the dealership. The person at the desk told me that they recently had several occurences with Edge's. The worst part is: she told me that Ford is "back order" on recent models' rear windows since November, they have none in Canada and have no idea when they would have some. Any of you heard about that?
  9. They're OEM: Low beam: Philips H11, 55W 12362 LL. High beam: Sylvania 9005, 60W, HB3U, E1.
  10. I just replaced both low and high beams original light bulbs with Philips X-Treme Vision and didn't notice any improvement. I took before/after pictures in darkness, and if it wasn't for the pictures' time stamps, I wouldn't be able to tell which one's which.
  11. I owned a 2012 AWD Ltd V6 (3.5l): + good power to overtake + nice engine sound + very smooth transmission - lack of torque at low rpm - big lag waiting for kickdown Now I drive a 2016 AWD Titanium EB 2.0l, which I drive most of the time in the city on "S". I put it on "D" when cruising on the highway. + plenty of torque when flooring at the green light (especially on "S") + slightly better fuel consumption than the 3.5 (12.5 l/100km vs 14 l/100km) - lack of power at high rpm's (I tried with premium fuel which helped a bit but it's not worth the price difference). - rattling sound when engine is cold - not much compression power to slow down (compared to the 3.5) When I shopped for my 2016, I wanted a V6 but there was none in stock (equipped the way I wanted); so I went with the EB. So far I'm happy with it, except for the engine sound.
  12. One thing I noticed with navigation under v2.2 is that the voice of the lady (in French) sounds better than her irritating predecessor. Yes, font in the top bar is bigger.
  13. Bonjour y'all. I upgraded from V1.0 to V2.2 (with Nav.) without any major issues. I used an old (but good quality) USB key, 2GB, formatted it in FAT32 and copied the unzipped files that you guys graciously gave us a link for. I freed-up all USB ports and unpaired my phone from Sync and simply inserted the USB key. I noticed the led blinking rapidly on the USB key and a message on the screen, something like "downloading files". After about 5 minutes, the led on my key started flashing very slowly (key in sleep mode), so I gave it another 5 minutes and thought there was something not working (I was wrong). Now I don't recommend you guys do what I did after but I'm going to tell you anyway: Being impatient, I removed the USB key, turned the ignition off, opened the door to cut power to the system, re-started the car, got the same message "downloading files", waited a few minutes, re-inserted the key, waited a few minutes, removed the key, did a soft-reset on Sync, which re-launched the system and came back with the same "downloading files" message, re-inserted the USB key and waited a few more minutes. Then I got a message like: "installation successful, updates will be active next time you start the system". Upon re-start, everything was working fine, except the maps that were taking abnormally long to load, so I did a soft-reset (pressed and held the radio power button and seek forward button until the screen went out). Upon reboot, the maps loaded quickly. So I would think that the first 5 minutes or so are to download the files from the USB key to Sync and the other 15 minutes are for deployment and installation. You just have to be patient... You can even listen to the radio while it's happening. Cheers.
  14. Here's a link to the PT Warranty (US version). Check on page 11. Front and Rear Wheel Drives are part of the Powertrain. http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/catalog/owner_guides/12frdwa5e.pdf
  15. I also had that roaring noise coming from the back of my 2012 Edge for a few weeks now, with only 63,000 km on the meter. I went to my Ford dealer this week and they replaced a rear wheel bearing-hub assembly. It was passed on the powertrain warranty; so it was at no charge to me.
