  1. Nice thread but there is no info on installing a rear view camera. Ed
  2. Hi Guys, It looks like the Pioneer nav system in my 2007 Edge SEL is already prepared for a rear view camera. At least the nav screen allows a camera to be switched ON or OFF. So, I just need to install a camera somewhere in the rear, connect it to plus (reverse lights) and ground and pull a wire to the back of the nav system, right? Wrong? Has someone done that and could shed some light on it? Thanks, Ed
  3. One would think that the wiring and the connectors are the same. Can any of our specialists shed any light on this? Thanks, Ed
  4. Hi, Can someone tell me where I could buy a reasonably priced service/repair manual for a 2007 Edge? Thanks, Ed
  5. triplejinc, thanks for the advice. I probably have to get the service manual first. Does anyone know of a source to order the manual on a DVD? Ed
  6. Thanks for the response. Apparently we are looking at two different manuals. Mine is the Pioneer AVIC-D3 manual. On p.131 it describes the time setting. However, the displays shown in the manual don't match the ones I see on the screen. My unit is set to the default PST and I don't see any way to change that to CST summer time. The so-called "time difference screen" is NOT showing. Sorry for the hassle, maybe I'm too dumb for that thing. :-) Ed
  7. Thanks for the quick replies. Didn't get any e-mail notifications although that setting is checked. The rolling back issue needs some getting used too, it's kind of annoying. The brakes rotors are fine as well as the brake pads. The pads seem to be new all around. This is our first car with rear disc brakes, maybe that's why the "brake feeling" is different?
  8. Hi, Recently purchased a 2007 Edge for my wife. She has 2 questions (complaints): 1 When she hits the brake, it seems that the brake performance is sort of stop and go as if the pads would slip on a regular basis. 2. The car rolls back on very slight slopes although it's in gear. Her former Escape did hold steady on those same slopes. Can some shed any light on these issues? Thanks, Ed
  9. Geez, isn't there anyone out there who can tell me how to set this darn clock?
  10. Hi, I have the 2007 Edge SEL and I have no real need for the Pioneer nav system. Is it possible to swap it out with the plain old fm radio + 6 disc changer unit? Thanks, Ed
  11. Well, reverse doesn't bring up anything and I can't locate a camera above the rear license plate. Guess that answers my question.
  12. How do I find out whether my 2007 SEL is equpped with a rear view camera or not? Thanks, Ed
  13. Hi, I have the 2007 Edge which has the darned Pioneer touch screen display installed. I have been trying for a couple of hours to adjust the clock. I have been reading the manual 10 different times and can't find anything that describes how to set the clock in the upper left corner. Can someone please elp me? Thanks, Ed
  14. If I can get them loose, I might as well replace them. My main question was, how big a deal is it? Do I have to remove half the stuff in the engine compartment before I can get to them in the first place?
  15. Hi, I'm wondering how big a deal it is to replace the spark plugs on the 2007 engine (about 90k mi)? It appears that Ford had a bunch of "weird" spark plug problems on some 2004 - 2007 engines. They claimed that the plugs didn't have to be replaced until they reach 100k miles but a number of them broke off because they were "baked" solid in he head. Is this one of those cursed engines? Thanks, Ed
  16. Thanks a lot. One would think that the wiring is already in there. Ed
  17. Hi, I just purchased a 2007 Edge and I was wondering if there is any way to install an automatic liftgate release that raises the gate remotely? Thanks, Ed
