  1. Wow, that's quite a response, I'll have to read it several times just to understand it. Does this procedure apply to my head unit at all? It's the factory one with the 6 CD changer.
  2. Well, there is noise as I said but I will check if there's a speaker. Is it difficult to remove the grill without breaking it? Maybe you're right and the amp is bad. I am in the process of finding a new head unit (that's why I was asking about the sub woofer) but that's not as easy as it sounds.
  3. Yes, I'm getting a sound there but it's more or less white noise.
  4. Found that grille As to your notes, it seems hard to believe but I guess you are right. Businesses try to take people to the cleaners whenever they can.
  5. Silly question, where's that sub-woofer grill? As to printing out a copy of the 2009 window sticker, I doubt that my Ford dealership can do that. I don't have much confidence in anything they're doing.
  6. Hi, Is there any way to find out if my 2009 LTD has a factory installed sub woofer without removing the head unit? Thanks, Ed
  7. I'll spray the lock and see what happens. Thanks, Ed
  8. Guys, thanks for all the input, I really appreciate it. Ed
  9. Thanks for the details. I'll look into Pioneer units. I had one in my 2007 Edge but it didn't have RDS.
  10. Yes, that string is attached. I don't think it's there to keep the door in place, it looks more like a damper for a smooth opening.
  11. Hi, I'd like to replace the original radio (the one with a 6 CD changer) in my 2009 Edge with a more modern screen unit. I have searched the net and there are literally hundreds of units available. The thing is, I don't need most of the stuff they offer. I don't need nav, no sirius, no dvd, not even touch screen. I just need a decent RDS fm and a single CD player and a not too small font on the screen is important, not those segment-type letters that my current radio displays. Also, the steering wheel controls should work too. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ed
  12. Hi, The glove compartment door on my 2009 Edge pops open all the time. I have checked and it seems to sit correctly in its hinges. Is there any kind of adjustment I can do? Thanks, Ed
  13. Hi, I read somewhere that the 2009 Edge Ltd had a gas tank recall? Is that true? Thanks, Ed
  14. I just checked the underside of the hood and there doesn't seem to be enough metal to screw the deflector on. There are some elongated holes toward the center of the front edge of the hood but no holes at the left or right ends. Of course, I don't have that deflector yet so I have no idea how this thing looks on the underside, if there's enough plastic to drill holes in the first place. And I agree with you, I would not rely on an 'adhesive only' install. Thanks for your input, chefduane.
  15. ChefDuane, I just read the installation instructions and it says "Do not use automatic "brush-style" car washes". Do you have any experience with those? Thanks, Ed
  16. Guys, The plastic-clad wheels on my 2009 Limited look crappier by the week. I'm wondering how difficult it would be to remove that plastic without overly scratching and damaging the rim. Does anyone have experience with removing that stuff? Thanks, Ed
  17. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a lot. Ed
  18. Something like that. I had a Ford deflector on my 2007 Edge that was installed like that. I don't want to tape it directly to the hood.
  19. Hi, I'm searching for a bug deflector for my 2009 Edge. I only found those that are taped directly to the hood but I want one that has a 2" or so gap between the plastic and the metal. Anyone have a suggestion? Thanks, Ed
  20. Is that (fake) wooden bezel available somewhere on the Internet?
  21. Hi, Can someone tell me if the 2009 6 CD changer unit has sync installed? Thanks, Ed Never mind, found that little Sync/Microsoft logo.
