Hi, My wife complains about the poor visibility at night. She has asked me to replace the light bulbs with better ones. Can someone recommend which ones to use? I don't want to go overboard with LED bulbs, etc. Would just replacing the stock bulbs with more powerful ones (without overloading the wiring and or the power source) be sufficient? The current ones seem to be the original bulbs (221 k miles). Maybe they're kind of worn out. Thanks for any advice. Ed

Well, if something happens with my wife's car, Ford will look at a nice lawsuit.
-
Lucky Guy! My wife is in Real Estate and she frequently has to drive clients around (I understand the passenger airbag is the culprit). Is Ford taking responsibility if something serious happens? I think not but they might look at another very expensive lawsuit.

Is Takata the only airbag manufacturer in the world? This issue has been going on so long, there was plenty of time to find several replacement manufacturers if Ford would care about the life of their customers. Heck, they could've started their own manufacturing in one of their plants.

Hi, One year ago (July 2016) I received a letter from Ford about the airbag recall for my 2007 Edge. Since then I haven'd heard a beep from them and the guys at the Ford dealership I purchased the car from only shrug their shoulders. Is there any way to find out what in the world is going on here? Thanks, Ed

Thanks a lot for the quick response. I guess it can be taken off by removing the nuts on top of the rear lift gate? Ed -
Hi, the rear spoiler on my 2007 Edge looses its paint rapidly. Before I apply the spray can, are there any suggestions how to prepare the surface in a special way? Thanks, Ed

Great post! I'll try my luck again next weekend. Thanks again, Ed

Well, yes, I found that bolt and removed it. I'll check your post first thing tomorrow morning. Thanks for the fast response. Ed

Well, just got around to doing it today and it was NOT a fun Sunday. For the life of me I could not get the plenum out. I removed all the stuff according to the description and the plenum moved about 1/4" up, which does not seem enough to move it forward. As a result, I could not remove the brake booster line at all so I closed everything down. The only thing I have accomplished was the change of the 3 front plugs and, for good measure, installed a new air filter. I'm not sure what I screwed up

Outside air inlet clogged?

Yes, the recirculate switch improves the airflow quite a bit. I'll remove and clean that outside filter next weekend and see what happens. Thanks again for all the help. -
Outside air inlet clogged?

Great, thanks. I found this filter thingy and, since I have to take the plenum off next weekend to replace the spark plugs, I will try to take the filter off without ripping it into pieces and clean it a bit. -

Where is the engine compartment intake? -
Hi, My wife's 2007 Edge has a very poor air ventilation. Since the Texas heat is already starting that is a bit of a concern. I have removed the cabin filter and checked the fan below it and it seems to work fine. Is there an outside air inlet that could be clogged with leaves or other dirt? Thanks, Ed

Great, thanks again. Just ordered the stuff, should be here before the end of the week. Looks like it's gonna be a fun weekend. Just replaced four rotors and brake pads two weekends ago. Cheers, Ed

Lower set, upper set or both? Sorry for being a nuisance. Ed

OK, what about the gaskets?
-
Noted! I just tried to order spark plugs at the www.rockauto.com website but there are so many different ones, it's confusing. Do you have a suggestion? Also, which gaskets should I order? Thanks again, Ed

I entered spark plug replacement and that particular thread did not pop up, thanks for helping me out with that. Ed

That was quick. Thanks a lot. Ed
