No a 2 amp draw would kill the battery in a day or two you could try pulling one fuse at a time to locate where the draw is. I would first disconnect any accessories or converters/chargers to see if you are still getting this draw. things like phone chargers, 12v/120 volt converts, after market radio's or dc power plugs and fan relays are usually the culprits.

Was able to connect It does show texting as now an available option it is able to send a text according to instructions However texts sent are not received by other person and incoming goes directly to iPhone. It's like it's almost there but not working. When a text is sent to me and iphone in pocket nothing happens with mft, however iphone vibrates but does not ring. There might be something really simple that I am missing but I can't figure it out.

is the entire purpose of this to run an electrical heater in the back of the car??? have you considered placing the inverter in the engine compartment near the battery with short cables and then running the 120 volt cord through the firewall with 14 gauge stranded???

On a side note the 1200 watt unit at 12 volts will give you a 100 amp plus draw on startup. A 100 amp load requires a 2 AWG for both positive and negative. I would suggest a multi stranded wire in which case you could get away with #4 AWG high quality wire, such as found at high end speaker suppliers or even eBay. Don't forget to also fuse the load with a circuit breaker or slow blow fuse on the hot or positive wire.

I am using the same gauge with the factory update ($25) and I am see TFT upwards of 200f. Is this what you are getting.

Personally, I think there is something wrong with their filling system. I fill my tank on slow and when I drive away it goes from just slightly over the fill mark to about 7/8ths in about 5 clicks. I have mentioned this numerous times to the service dealer but all I get is "no codes found" I can keep topping of the tank ever so slowly after it clicks off and I am able to add about 3-4 gallons extra. Yesterday I was down to about 20 miles left and I was only able to put 16.2 gallons in it, so where is the other 3 gallons?

Today I got my nice new blue package with the Ford MFT update. As promised with my dealer I turned in the new Sat/Map A-3 card and he gave me my old A-1 card. What I noticed was that the card is 16 GB in size and would be useful for a music card when I do not need the Sat or could be used with a USB reader for pictures and music in your car. The card is marked as Read only but usually this is done by sliding the small upwards piece on the left side of the card down. In this case the switch had no effect, and when inserted into a usb card reader it gives "info" as read/write but I was unable to format it with my computer no matter how many variations I tried. Anyone, have any idea, on how to erase this card, so that it can be recycled for other purposes, rather then just throw it in the garbage.

Both Mercedes and BMW have a 1 year service interval. So I go 1 year without changing my oil which is 10 quarts and runs around $475 in Canada. Needless to say over the last year I have only driven about 1000 miles and my level 2 service is coming up for about $1,000. I think I get the tires checked and air filter changed for the B service interval.

I have about 6500 miles on the odometer. So far only engine mod is to switch to a K&N filter. I did an oil change at dealer which is regular 5w-30 oil. Air pressure upped from 35psi factory to 37 psi, give or take a tenth of a psi. In the city I am honestly getting 25-28 US MPG on regular gas, or upwards of 29.2 to 30 US MPG on premium. I live in a very hilly city where there is a large hill to get home and one hill is a steep upgrade of 23 degree's. On the highway I am getting 30.8 to 31.6 US MPG on regular gas, on premium gas I am averaging 36.8 to 37.2 US MPG. This is a calculation determined from Blaine to Bellingham and back, with and average speed of 59-61 mp/h. (cruise control activated) It would be interesting to see other users info as I am considering a 2013 MKX with the 3.7 engine.

As I own both a 2012 edge and a 2010 mercedes I can comment on this. When I brought my mercedes in for it's first oil change it was $476 plus $35 to wash the car, when he asked me if I wanted a wash I obviously said "yes", after an hour they did shuttle me home and 10 hours later called to pick me up. Total cost around $500 and about 12 hours. Now I just brought in my edge for an oil change and I received a loaner and 3 hours later received it back cleaned and detailed for $0, thats right free for first complete service including washed and detailed immaculately inside. So as far as service goes Ford wins for both service, quality, conveiance and cost. Now I should mention my Edge was only $50,000 where as the Mercedes was $85,000. So please before you go slagging Ford especially against Mercedes, know your facts.

Nothing yet in the West Coast. If I were to believe all the promises made by Ford my kit was to arrive 3-4 weeks ago. They made promises and promises, then my dealer really went out of his way to locate me and give me the dealer SD card and update. I find it interesting that it was to have shipped in the week of March 5th give or take 2 weeks for all shipments. Being now a month later and nothing makes me think they are having some sort of problems with Delivery in Canada. Which makes me think it might be the English/French problem.

I believe that in the event of a dead remote battery you are to place the remote in this slot and the car should start.

Funny you should say that about the sales department and the service department. I was having coffee at my local starbucks when my sales guy was driving buy and saw my car sitting in it's usual place. He drove into the mall and once he found me, he immediately called the service manager who made an immediate appointment to slot me in. I arrived 10 minutes later and my regular rep. along with the tech were waiting for me, and within a minute he was working on the update. about an hour later my car was ready after doing the update and washing my car. While I was waiting, I was given the use of a new 2012 edge except with the 3.5 instead of the ecoboost. I have to say things were done, quick, fast and efficient and I am extremely impressed with OceanPark Ford in South Surrey BC.

So I was having coffee with my wife and my salesman tracked me down to inform me that in todays mail came a handful of SD cards for the new MFT. Needless to say I was in there 10 minutes later and had the upgrade done. An hour later I was on my way with the new update and SD card for the maps. The maps are different and the unit is extremely quick to respond. All in all seems simpler, so all Canadian dealers should be receiving their SD cards and upgrade any day now if not today. Unfortunately only a small handful arrived at my dealer so some customers might have to wait in the mail for theirs.
