  1. I noticed this thread back before I got my Edge, and sure enough I've been having the same problem. Three months later it's failing to close more often than not, so I'm finally taking it in Monday to get it fixed. At least it sounds like everyone is having success with the fix.
  2. My experience is similar to yours. The USB connector can only be used to charge the iPhone or play audio from iTunes. Any other audio sources such as Pandora or other streaming apps require use of the Bluetooth audio. I will say I haven't had any issues with the Bluetooth audio cutting out like you have indicated. Having access to AppLink would be ideal, but it appears the Edge is missing whatever hardware enables it or else they would have already introduced it.
  3. You can play the iPad on the My Ford Touch screen while the vehicle is parked. You will need the Apple Composite AV Cable to connect to the A/V connectors in the console: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC748ZM/A?fnode=MTc0MjU4NjE If all you want is sound, you should be able to use Bluetooth Audio to play the sound on your car's speakers.
  4. Did a quick search of the dealers around me and found two that are very close to what you wanted - one had black leather instead of stone, and the other was missing the vision package. Sorry but I have to ask, if you are set on this exact configuration why don't you just order one from the factory?
  5. The SEL Appearance Package looks slick. I wish they offered something like that with the Limited options as well.
  6. Whenever my Travel Link has decided not to update, a system reset usually fixes the problem. I have just come to expect the feature to be unreliable and haven't decided yet if I am going to renew it once my free trial expires. There's nothing available on it that I can't already pull up on my phone, but the convenience of having it available at the touch of a button while driving is nice when it works.
  7. The 2013 Deep Impact Blue looks good on its own, but next to the 2012 Dark Blue Pearl I prefer the darker color.
  8. I am seeing the same thing. Also, on the front page the Facebook plugin is covering up the list of forums rather than being off to the left like it is supposed to be. I was able to collapse it but it's definitely a bug.
  9. It sounds like he's planning on buying from dealer stock. I have seen a few dealer stock 2013 Sport AWD models in my searches, so they are certainly out there.
  10. The SRX definitely seemed underpowered compared to the Edge and MKX. It was a nice car feature wise, and the only one in GM's lineup that can even come close to the Edge and MKX feature-wise, but the engine was very unresponsive and almost sounded like it was straining to get up to speed on the freeway. I really wanted the MKX, but couldn't justify paying $80 a month more (plus an extra year) once I optioned it to the same level as my Edge.
  11. With all the voice commands that are available, I can't believe there still isn't a command to turn the heated seats on and off. I want to be able to turn the heater on without taking my hands off the steering wheel. Every other climate control feature can be controlled by voice, so why not the seats?
  12. The 2012s have them. The feature is part of the Vision Package with BLIS, otherwise the mirrors won't have them.
  13. I test drove both. Going in I was planning on purchasing the EcoBoost, but I ended up switching to the V6. The EcoBoost had a few quirks about it. It didn't sound as powerful (not surprisingly), and there were a couple times where it felt clunky or had a hard shift. I think the 2.0L should work well in the Escape, but the Edge (and Explorer) would be better served by something along the lines of 2.5L-2.7L. On my lease the standard engine saves me about $15 a month over the EcoBoost, when compared with the potential gas savings makes it essentially a wash.
  14. I've read that on some models if you touch the driver's side rear door handle it opens all the doors. I don't pick up my Edge until Saturday though so I haven't been able to test to see if this applies to the Edge.
  15. On the iPhone it sounds like the same voice used for Siri.
  16. That's the only explanation I can come up with, but I'm not sure why they couldn't just incorporate it as part of a Job 2. I'm leasing my new Edge a month earlier than I was planning to because of the uncertainty over what the inventory of 2012s will look like and what lease rates and incentives will apply to 2013 models.
  17. Unfortunately I found out the private cash cannot be combined with the $1000 lease conquest rebate, so it looks like mine will go unused.
  18. Does your car have the 301A package? It is definitely possible to have a 300A optioned up to over $40,000 without having the nav system, especially if you have AWD. If you have the push button start and vista roof without the 301A package, you definitely do not have the navigation option. It is well documented that you can't add navigation after the car leaves the factory even though there's no hardware limitation preventing it short of adding the SD card. It's hard to tell if the dealer thought this was possible or he was knowingly scamming you, but either way just adding the SD card to a system that wasn't programmed with navigation won't work. If navigation is truly important to you, I would return the car and get a model that includes navigation.
  19. The photo is taken in front of the old train depot in Detroit, so I'd guess he lives somewhere in the metropolitan area.
  20. I requested brochures last week after reading this thread and they arrived today along with the $750 private cash. Mine does indicate it is good on 2011, 2012, and 2013 models and is good for 2 months (perfect timing for me). The only thing I'm not sure about is it makes mention of not being combinable with loyalty and lease renewal programs. My lease rates have been quoted along with a $1000 conquest rebate, but I'm not sure if this is amongst the items that would be excluded from the offer. I'll have to ask my salesman.
  21. I think the Edge is pretty gender neutral. I've always preferred the higher ride of SUV's and Crossovers as well as having the ability to easily carry whatever I need to, and have never felt the need to drive something sporty as a single guy. The Edge fits me perfectly, and we're planning on structuring the lease so that in 2 years my brother can buy out the lease for his wife to drive, so it truly is both.
