  1. yeah, lol. and had i stepped out of the "factory boy" box i might have been able to come up with that. but things like that are some of the biggest reasons i joined the forum. despite all of my factory knowledge, i still like to add aftermarket things to all of my vehicles. and we all know forums are the easiest place to find real world R&D
  2. installed the illuminated sill plates on the girlfriends 2010 Limited about a week ago. Instead of dicking with the harness in the A-pillar i used the wire that was suggested on kc300c's 2011 sport. that has been the only modification done and last night i went out to find that my battery is completely drained any suggestions?
  3. so realisitically, with my 2010 edge limited with 6CD/MP3 Premium II system with sub and amp i dont have to have the installation kit from united radio? because EVERY time i talk to anyone at united radio they say i cant upgrade to the clarion hdd nav head unit WITHOUT their kit
  4. try it and see what happens....it doesnt work. we've tried. there is DRM written on the card. it reads that DRM label and stores it in the APIM.
  5. here ya go joe tsb12-03-03.pdf
  6. here are a few of mine thus far. edited for size
  7. hubcaphaven.com for the wheel as far as quote price 1300 is phenomenal!!!! i work at a dealership in a major metro area and i would estimate somewhere around 1600 to 1700. be very glad you're not replacing a sport rim!!!!! lmao!
  8. heres the current matrix my advice though, if any of you are looking at upgrading and are afraid something may not work with SYNC/MFT just take a demo phone from you cell store out in the parking lot, sync it up and find out for yourself. all the guys at your dealership can do is speculate. We don't have time to do testing on ALL cell phones out there and ford will only add a phone to the matrix once ALL functionality has been proven or disproved. And with new phones coming out every day, don't count on ford being able to keep up. not meant to sound rude either. just honest and meant to help you avoid headache in the future sync_phone_mp3_player_matrix.pdf
  9. its VIN by VIN. 11A01 requires dealer update 11A02 can be done by user or dealer 11A03 can be done by user or dealer
  10. by you agreeing to leave the vehicle for further testing you've stated the official, unofficial policy. dealerships cannot fix what we can't re-create. The problem is that there may be up 3 or more TSB's addressing similar symptoms or concerns but all 3 can have extremely different repairs. I've seen this firsthand where one TSB costs FoMoCo about $34 give or take a few dollars depending on shop warranty labor rate, and another TSB with VERY similar symptoms cost FoMoCo $1250 dollars. Hence the reason the technician has to be able to re-create the symptom or concern himself and compare his findings to volumes of tech data. Because if we get it wrong, or over repair it means ALOT more than just a single kicked claim. it can potentially put a dealership into warranty counseling or even audit status.
  11. word. yeah i've been having one of those brain fart days all day to day...i had to read the WSM about 8 different times before everything sank in...i should have kept my happy butt at home
  12. it could be i'm having a bad day and not thinking clearly. instead of opening my mouth before i'm sure i'm just gonna jump in the WSM and get it verbatim, lol....been a rough week already
  13. yaw is the measurement of rotation on a central axis. steering angle is the same thing. the degree of rotation of the wheel in relation to vehicle at static. i understand what you guys are saying. but IIRC the edge uses a combo sensor pack at the base of the column
  14. i thought that on the edge they were one in the same?
  15. you sure you're not experiencing a downshift? but then again, you will have an instantaneous sensation of power loss during Traction Control activations. thats the purpose of the system. if its happening during left turns only and the depth of the curve isn't that great, you could also be having issues with your Steering Angle Sensor (commonly called a yaw sensor).
  16. the original poster has an issue with Boyle's law. however your issue is probably covered by a TSB in regards to the 22" inch rims leaking at the bead seats due to corrosion on the bead seat area
  17. you can on the 2010 and down edges. no bypass for MFT APIM.
  18. here ya go tsb09-25-07.pdf tsb11-04-20.pdf
  19. sorry, but apparently you've forgotten why you even posted in the first place. you were bitching about how you got a ticket because you forgot to turn on your headlights! NOBODY is that damn busy that they cant take .00005 ms to flip a damn switch that very well could mean the difference between an 18 wheeler seeing you and missing you or not seeing you and killing you, or worst case the other motorist. i'm not jumping any bandwagons here. you just simply pissed me off because you were blaming ford because you're lazy and SO busy. the only people that can say i was too busy, IMHO, would be a teenage girl that just got her lisence and my only reason for using that example is because she probably didn't know any better as a new driver. i believe your reasoning was that you have too many things on your mind to remember to turn your lights on, honestly, i hope we never meet on the road, as you don't belong behind the wheel if you cant clear your mind for the task at hand. that's my life, my families lives, my friends, etc that you are jeopardizing because you can prioritize your life and your job. as a service advisor at a dealership, i perform more than 1,000 different tasks before 9 am EVERY day and on a slow day i'll get behind the wheel of more than 25 different vehicles. with each one i drive you can damn well bet that my own safety and the safety of the vehicle is the ONLY thing on my mind. no matter how important you think your job is, you're not gonna be able to do it if you're dead or laid up in a hospital bed
  20. that 1 hour charge is a flat fee that most all dealerships impose just for hooking up an IDS. you can bitch about the cost all you want, but until you've looked at an expense sheet from a dealership service department you cant even begin to grasp what it costs us just to turn the lights on and provide you with fresh coffee and in my dealerships waiting room fresh doughnuts every morning. each IDS setup runs between 5,000 and 10,000 dollars per unit. the smallest dealerships have at least 3 units. and contrary to popular belief Ford pays for NOTHING you see at a dealership. now, in regards to the amount of time it takes to program a key, the only way it would take 12 minutes to program a key is if you drove your car into the service bay, input all info to generate a repair order, complete the FREE 99 point inspection that all Ford dealerships provide to you at no charge which also gives you a free estimate (on inspection items) that alot of places charge for, check OASIS for any open recalls, top off all fluids FREE of charge, take your existing key to parts and stand in line with up to 30 other technicians, who are working 10 or more hours a day to provide a quality service of which they'll probably only be paid for roughly 4 hours of that 10, and wait to have the key cut for FREE, then begin the 600 second time out to enter PATS functions on IDS just to program a key for you. maybe those of you who think you know everything about dealerships being a rip off will take heed to what i posted here. We work our asses off daily for next to nothing to make sure you have a good vehicle and a machine that will keep you and your family safe. we don't do it for money, cuz there damn sure aint that much in it. we do it because we take pride in our work.
  21. here ya go, this should help steering wheel switch.pdf
  22. not possible unfortunately. on older vehicles it was because all you had to do was add auto down relays to the up switch this is probably what you are referring to : The glass, frames and mechanisms include the following: Edge Standard power windows, including one-touch up and one-touch down (LH front window only)MKX Standard power windows, including one-touch up and one-touch down (LH and RH front windows only) Global Open — MKX Only NOTE: The global open feature may be enabled/disabled via scan tool or in some cases modified by the customer following a procedure listed in the Owner's Literature. For a complete list of available programmable parameters, refer to the Module Configuration and Parameter Chart in Section 418-01. NOTE: If the accessory delay relay is active, the global open feature does not operate. When a request is received from the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter, the BCM sends a signal on the global open circuit to both front door window motors (to open the windows) and to the roof opening panel (if equipped; to open the roof opening panel).
