  1. I know this is old post but none of the advice seems to apply in my case. My wife's fob works remote start, mine does not. Every other feature with the 2013 Ford edge limited remote works fine. I read about it not working after an alarm and that did happen so how do I reset or reprogram mine to work again? TIA
  2. OK real late question on this topic. Can I use the solid black wire on the diagnostic port itself for my dashcam ground?
  3. Well Ford installed a new headliner under warranty to take care of the problem with the headliner I showed in my pics previously. They said the one that came with the Edge was warped and they could not make the "gap" any less.I had to wait to get authorization from Ford itself before the dealer would do this though and of course once he got authorization he had to order the part so the whole process took three days. We bought new one year ago and have had to have the battery replaced in the first week, the fuel filler neck the second week, then the headliner, and also several of the door clips on the passenger door panel had broken off and the panel was loose so they replaced those too. When they installed the headliner they broke one of the garment hanging hooks and of course none in stock so trip back for that. Thankfully the dealer is 10 min away for us.
  4. This is ridiculous, I just saw this on my 2013 Edge and I could live with a small even gap but this is small gap on driver's side and huge, maybe 1" gap on the passenger side. I have washed the windshield many times and even though still new with 4750 miles on it and did not see until today. If I can figure out how to get pics on here I will. Make sure you don't have this problem and just haven't noticed it yet. Weird thing is I don't even see anything that holds the headliner up. So I can add this to the defective battery that left us stranded and the fuel filler neck that was bent too tightly to allow for gas to flow into the tank. PS No it's not paper stashed up there it's the reflection of stuff in my garage. Uploaded with ImageShack.com Uploaded with ImageShack.com
  5. Took the Edge in this morning and guess what the charging system checks out OK it's a brand new bad battery. They also said I had a bad gas filler neck so they ordered a new one to install tomorrow. I think they thought I was crazy until they attempted to fill the tank and gas drizzled down the side just like I said it would.
  6. That's what I thought which sounds ridiculous since the thing was bought new and I've had it for only 3 weeks. I asked for an appointment tomorrow and of course no response back from the dealer yet. Between this and gas dribbling out of the filler neck when gassing up I'm pretty fed up. BTW it will not remote start either so when I get in I have no idea if it is going to start or not til I push the button while having my foot on the brake, ridiculous!
  7. I've been having trouble starting the new Edge. Not just in the morning mind you but at all different times. I checked the battery just now with my Fluke and it reads 10v. I just started it to move it a few feet in my garage and it did fine but I'm wondering about the batt voltage. I'll check again in the morning before I try to start then. I checked all connections visible and everything seemed tight so anyone know? Going back to dealer Thursday, I mean after all it is two weeks old, time for repair, right?
  8. I had to add my unpleasant experience so far. Brand new 2013 Edge Limited 2wd. The morning after we got it home it would not start and yes I had foot on brake and the intelligent key in console. Pushed button 5 times with time in between and nothing, just like a dead battery. I tried one more time and it started up like there had never been a problem in the first place. Ok so maybe a fluke right so next day same thing and I saw the red square with the "check charging system" lit up and figured I was doomed, it went into "power saving mode" and would not let me use accessory at all. I'm taking in Tuesday for this and hoping I don't get the famous "could not confirm customer complaint" crap. To add to my frustration I gassed up for the first time since the "free"tank from dealer and I insert the nozzle into the "self sealing" gas cap and go to the front to clean the windshield and to my horror I notice liquid at the rear of the car and think maybe water from exhaust pipe but oh no it's the "self sealing" gas cap allowing fuel to escape around the seal. I tried even slowing the gas nozzle flow but there was still gas drizzling out. It's one thing for the "cap" not to seal but couldn't they have designed a drain detent with a hose or something to prevent the gas from running over my extra cost white exterior? Seems asinine to me. Is this going to be POS? Not been the most positive two weeks of ownership for sure. I bought this instead of an import that I really liked just to "buy American" but so far not happy.
  9. Be glad of that......it's really cheap looking, yeah mine is 2013. I ordered real wood burlwood trim panels from a kit online for $76. Not the whole trim kit just the three pieces where ugly prevails. I ordered pieces from this kit through carid.com http://www.carid.com/images/Ford/FDEG11D.jpg
  10. I think he means the ugly, phony, 1960's wood grain lower dash of the Ltd. I almost did not buy because of this. Everything else seemed so modern and then this seemed like something Al Bundy would have in his Pacer.
  11. Any aftermarket choice for just this? I don't want a full wood trim kit but would like to cover, change, or do something to get rid of the phony wood grain look that reminds me of the exterior trim on the Clark family truckster, as well as my Fathers 61 Ford Town and Country wagon. Thanks
