Battery was bad, had it replaced. Once this new battery is done and warranty is up I'll start looking for a higher end battery...

OK thanks for the confirmation guys! How long are these Motorcraft batteries supposed to last? Are there variables that would shorten the life span? ie. keeping chargers plugged in...

I'm at 46K bought the car cert pre owned at 19K..... Suddenly start the car this morning and it gives this very low weak start however the engine turns over just fine...before i started the car the screen had a message "System off to save Battery" with the progress bar. then when I placed my key in the ignition it said "System off to save battery, Please turn ignition off or start engine. I drove to work like normal, nothing out of the ordinary...I get to work, shut down and I get the same message and the same startup sequence..(I thought perhaps the battery would charge while on the 15 mile commute... Since day one I have had a phone charger plugged in sometimes even 2 and that never caused any power issues....I've added a USB drive in there about a month ago and no issues till this morning so hard to believe the power issue can be coming from end of things..... I'm thinking best case scenario, battery just needs to be replaced? Thoughts? Obviously I'll be calling the dealer this morning to bring it in but just wanted to get some ideas and thoughts also....

I have the same issue but it doesn't bother me THAT much....It just prompts me to pick a new color everytime it resets... Perhaps a fix will come with the next MFT version upgrade but they want to work on a addressing more than one issue when they ready to roll it out, just a thought..

Bought my 2011 Edge one year ago and I had the SAME issue. Eventually from getting closed on all of the time without being properly installed they got warped so I removed them, but then the plastic railing that holds them in place would constantly rattle and I was tempted to just break them off! haha. Luckily it was still under factory warranty, one of cables which pulled the roof broke, so I had them fix the rubber siding along with the roof. YES, they are supposed to fit into those black plastic slots and the they are NOT supposed to move with the sunroof, they stay in place. They replaced mine with new ones and I watched the guy pretty much just slide the new ones on those plastic railings and push them into the plastic slots. DONE! IT shouldn't be an expensive task and if it is, you can perhaps find the part online and install it yourself. They don't seem to have much functionality other than to perhaps direct the air better out through the back when the roof is open in vent mode, and if you're like me, if they are supposed to be there and functioning, then I WANT them there and functioning! I can take some pics if you want..

Do you get the same features such as gracenote and album artwork using the SD card for music Versus a USB device?

This is a 300GB NTFS external drive with moving disks and runs on USB power. Would there ONLY have to be music on it or can MFT be pointed to the directory. I can also use a flash drive but just curious about the external option

The idea of Gracenote sounds great but the only issue is that I only listen to music over Bluetooth. So I am thinking of just placing all of my music onto a USB drive but then had the idea of using an external hard drive instead. Has anyone used an external hard drive as their USB device for music?

I have been using this since day one and works great for price. The rubber grips on the inside of the clamp is starting to wear a little but still works great, I'd honestly buy another one if this one completely wore out. One thing I noticed is that if you are on a freeway going downhill and you tap the brake, the car will automatically downshift to provide engine braking. You most likely have to be going highway speeds for this to happen as it's the only time I notice it. Just want to make sure that's not what's happening.

Not sure why I am not getting a response on this with 50 views. Basically it's explained in the link that the rattle can be caused by a loose heat shield. Can anyone confirm where this is located on the 2011 Ford Edge SEL?

I have version 4.30.13171. When updated to this version in September and the Sync site is telling me that it's up to date.

Which version do you have? Supposedly I have the latest version and that the one with preset channels in the radio section of the main view. Im not even sure if you can see the address book in the instrument cluster, I know you can see missed, called and received calls though but only the ones you made while synced with MFT. For all we know this could be a Samsung issue

I have a Samsung S4 and the sync works fine, I have no issues until someone calls me. First my phone will ring and take about seconds for it to ring on my MFT. Then when I hit accept, the music comes back on for another 3 seconds and THEN to my call. Since I have no issues with syncing music at all I was wondering if there are any troubleshooting ideas people had... Also, I noticed that even though my phonebook is synced, the contact names do not show on the screen right dashboard console screen, is there a fix for that??

I was looking at these and seems like the actual cradle is sold seperately? the mount is $66 and then the cheapest cradle for the S4 I saw was $109...Am I missing something here?? Also, how simple is it to slide off that side piece?

The vehicle is on level ground. I'm thinking perhaps the dipstick should be checked horizontally. Will try again today when I come home from work.
