I received mine this week and installed them a few days ago. One thing I noticed is that the current lights are not like the older versions. When turn signals are on, they blink in an amber/off pattern instead of the amber/white pattern that many of the videos show. Also, the wiring is quite different from the pamphlet you receive and the DIY install videos on their site. However, the lights still look awesome. One of the easiest upgrades you can do, the entire thing took me less than an hour and I am not very comfortable around cars:)

I wanted a change from the chrome grill as well... I ended up buying these http://www.ebay.com/itm/360851826135?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 In New York State we have a program called BOCES which are schools which train High School students in a variety of trades. I ended up taking these up to our local school and they painted them for the price of materials. I had them painted tuxedo black and clear coated for about 20 bucks. Most states have similar programs, find one and you should be good to go. It helps them learn a trade and you get a pretty nice discount. I will be installing these next week, pretty excited to see the results...

Auctions are a tricky situation. I believe I got a pretty nice deal but you never know. The nice thing was that I was able to pick exactly what I wanted and with what features and eventually get it. It took about 4-5 weeks of bidding on vehicles but the guy got me exactly what I wanted. I think I ended up paying about 26k for a 2011 Limited AWD with the best package/options with 31k miles. This was almost a year ago now. Most of the dealerships I walked into were asking way more than that for Edges which were far less complete. Every week, I would get a list of vehicles, rate them from 1-5 in order of desire, I would set a max price, and my guy would bid on them accordingly.

Ten months ago I bought a Ford Edge 2011 Limited Edition at the Manheim auction in New Jersey. I couldn't be happier with my choice. Its loaded with just about every option and the white platinum tri coat looks awesome. However, after visiting this forum for the past month or so, I began to get that itch that most of you know about and this week I began my journey down the mod roads. This week I added 1) EGR running boards ( mostly so that my 6 year old son can get in and out - at least thats how I explained the cost ) 2) DRL running lights from daytimebrightlights.com 3) all new tires and rims from tirerack.com ( Platinum Sabers ) 4) plasti dipped all chrome on the back of the car I have a new front grill at the paint shop getting painted tuxedo black and clear coated. Then I plan on plasti dipping the rest of the chrome and placing the vinyl Ford emblems which I just received in the mail. They are black background with white lettering. I also have the front license plate bracket which will hold the plate below the bumper. For now, I just removed the bracket and plate entirely and plugged the holes until I am ready for the grill install. Here are some before and after pictures. I'm only about 50% done with my planned mods but hopefully they look pretty decent. I am looking for new headlights but can't seem to find anything for the years 2011 and up. I know the limited already has HIDs but they really suck. Something like the ones at http://www.carid.com/2010-ford-edge-headlights/spec-d-halo-led-projector-headlights-12130978.html would be sweet. Does anyone know if they are available? I don't want to cut my headlamps and place the halos from Carid in there, seems rather cheesy.

Mickey. I just removed my front license plate and need to reinstall it, where did you get the bracket you used for the lower install?? Edge looks great, I am actually about to do the same thing to my grill...

picturemerollin,What color did you paint your grill? It looks like a satin black, clear coated? I am trying to decide between matte black or something similar to your grill. I am trying to keep the car as classy looking at possible while pimping it out a bit, so I am leaning towards the glossier finish. I have a wife to deal with....

What were the costs for the overlays done by Glass Elephant? I am just starting to plan out my mods and Im unsure if I want to go with the ebay emblems or just use the overlays... Great forum, full of awesome ideas and pictures.
