  1. To unbolt the front emblem from the chrome backplate, did you just push them out from the back, or is there some special way to get the emblem off the backing plate? I'm about to put a black grille on and get this emblem also.
  2. It's a Rockford Fosgate R1200-1D amp. RMS is 1200, 2400 max, but I won't be pushing it anywhere near max. The people I've asked at shops and the dealership think it'll be fine. As long as I don't see headlights and instrument panel dimming when the bass hits, I should be okay according to my friend's dad who installs systems for a living.
  3. Hey everybody, I have a 2013 Edge SE, and I just ordered a 1200Watt amp and a 1200W loaded sub enclosure. Will I need to buy an additional car battery to power these?
  4. I plastidipped my grille in August I believe, and it's held up the whole time. (my avatar)
  5. That's odd. When I removed both fixtures I had no problem popping them out when pulling them straight out of the body. Maybe it's because I have a 2013. Think the design is any different or it was easier due to being newer?
  6. Hey everybody! I just wanted to show you all my successful installation of Dan's HID's! Loving them!
  7. I ordered the LED bulbs pack and have put in the front two (I'm waiting to install the rears when I get the LED taillights), and they hyperflashed for a few minutes the first few times I used them, but they mostly don't hyperflash now. Occasionally it'll blink fast a few times and go back to normal, but it's not enough for me to install resistors. BUT, I got some new LED's that Dan said he found that are much brighter/more powerful than the others. Samsung somethings.
  8. Hey everybody! I thought it would be cool to have before and after pictures of everyone's edge that shows the transformations you've made from the day you got your edge to what it looks like now. If you have original and after modification pictures, post them! I love getting ideas for mine!
  9. Hey everybody! I got my courtesy light adapter today and took some pictures of the process! I'll put them in the order I did it. Step 1: Clip the old fuse adapter off below the blue thing. Step 2: Remove fuse(s) from DRL fuse adapter and put them into courtesy adapter fuse adapter the same way they were in the DRL fuse adapter. Step 3: Strip about a half inch of the wire jacket off of the DRL fuse adapter wire. Step 4: Twist the exposed wires into a tight bundle and insert them into the courtesy adapter's pink sleeve thing. Step 5: Crimp it down tight with pliers and move a lighter flame around the end you crimped so it shrink-wraps around the wire. Step 6: Remove the driver's side turn signal light and use the extra red wire splicer thing that came with the DRL's to connect the red wire from the courtesy adapter to the middle teal and yellow wire in the turn signal wire harness. Step 7: Put the new courtesy fuse adapter into the fuse slot you pulled the old one from. I didn't have any left over zip ties, so I used electrical tape to bundle the long red wire and tuck it back in the engine compartment. And boom I was done! Here's a video of them working! 10. I'm not gonna lie, Dan... Mine are supposed to get here tomorrow, and I'm really anxious about installing them properly. Your video definitely made me feel a little more informed, though! I'll be putting them in with my friend who owns a detailing business and is always working with cars, so hopefully the two of us together won't be able to ruin it. Haha
  11. Hey guys! I just got a powered 12" Nakamichi subwoofer installed in my 2013 Edge SE, and it sounds great, but I'm starting to want a second one to really put my sound over the top. Does anyone know what all it will take to put a second one in? Is there a way I could daisy chain them, or could I get a splitter for the RCA's going into them? I don't know much about car audio, but I'm sure my lovely friends on here will!
  12. Got a glamour shot of my love earlier after spending about three hours detailing her. I've been doing little things like adding the hood deflector, and I just ordered some chrome mirror and door handle covers to spice it up a little and make it look less SE-ish. Got the SE with the upgraded media package, thinking I didn't care if it had the higher trim features. Couldn't have been more wrong a few months into having it. Haha. Still waiting for my lighting guy at the dealer to come back from vacation so I can talk to him about getting some fog lights put in. Probably going to end up doing it myself. But yeah, this is Ziggy!
  13. I've seen a lot about the switchback led turn signals, but no matter where I look, I can't seem to get a straight answer. Is there a switchback bulb I can buy that I can just plug in and it work without hyper flashing or anything? When I think I have an answer, I see someone else say something that messed up what the other one said. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
  14. So I have a 2013 SE with the blanks in place of where the fog lights would be, and I went to the Jim Tidwell dealership in Kennesaw, GA to see how much it would be to order those and have them installed. Great tip for anyone doing this: Don't ask someone in parts. They act like I'm speaking Chinese to them. The guy was telling me that can be done and told me some long detailed story about a guy spending seven grand on headlights that didn't work, and I was just like what the cuss are you talking about, dude? Realized I should've been in the service department, and they quickly gave me a guy's business card that would know exactly what I needed and how much it would be.
