  1. The whole dealership model is really fascinating (not necessarily in a good way) from a financial perspective. Most people don't know that dealerships are cash poor most of the time, which is why it is almost always a pain to get them to give you money when it is owed unless they are a large dealership and even then it is not easy. For most dealerships, they don't own many/any of the cars on their lot. They have financing agreements with the factories or large used car consortiums which allow them to keep the cars on the lot without paying for them in advance. They pay mostly on commission and the rest of the staff is often underpaid. And when it comes to service, they will fight like tooth and nail not to do warranty work if they can avoid it because they don't get paid as well by the factory and are kept to hard limits on work times, costing, etc. Not all dealerships are like this, but many are (especially small ones). As shocking as it may sound, I would be surprised if they actually don't have your money. It was already spent and now they are trying to figure out how to pay you back, assuming your deposit was significant.
  2. On Titanium and Sport models with the upgraded system, isn't there a sub in the cargo area? I know the older Edges did, but I guess I never looked on the '15
  3. Let us know when you get it and verify if its correct, if you'd be so kind
  4. Yeah, its amazing to think the power output is equal or better (torque wise at least) to a 2001 Cobra Mustang with a DOHC 4.6L
  5. Would be interesting to see dyno and instrumented test comparisons between the two. Would not be surprised if the Edge is being underrated to protect the MKX
  6. Unless I'm misunderstanding, you're referencing the cargo mat. He's talking about the cargo shade. My fiancee's Escape has one. It rolls up to the back of the rear seats and pulls out to basically prevent people from seeing what is in the cargo area. I've never seen one for the 2015 but it looks like it could take one and I'd be interested in one too if it existed.
  7. Unfortunately no. They are the same engine, but with many differences. I suspect other than the transverse mounting and different transmission & programming it may also have slightly different heads and/or cams. As always, best to get a custom tune though it helps to go to someone who has tuned the 2.7 in an F150 because they are very similar though not identical
  8. Dude if you want people to read your posts, don't make them in the smallest font possible. Its darn near unreadable
  9. My build date is 3.16.2015. I think I posted earlier that I had the sealant fix put in quite some time ago. I've only been in the rain once since buying it and 2 car washes. So far no direct evidence of any leak before or after the sealant. Keeping my fingers crossed. I don't know how many Edges are included in this TSB but I'm still surprised theres a shortage of "parts" considering those parts consist of a standard brake hose and some sealant which I can only imagine isn't some special compound.
  10. I have the same ones as the OP, and I"m guessing that the higher wattage won't make that much difference. These really aren't designed to do anything other than be more visible to other drivers. If they don't see you with 50W bulbs I'm not sure they'd see you with others. Just my two cents.
  11. To revise my comments above, now that I'm paying attention each time I'm running the cooled seats, I'm seeing this too. I wish I still had my 2014 Fusion to compare it to, but this is annoying to say the least.
  12. I work in a warehouse and for better or worse, I often sit in my car at lunch with the AC (and cooled seats) running. I checked today and I did not feel heat coming through to my back on the upper half of the seat. I will say the butt area of the seat gets much cooler than the back, though I do feel the coolness. I put my hand on the rear side of the seat back and I felt warmth for sure, but it was not "hot." I'll keep checking to see if it varies.
  13. The K&N filter for the 2.0 Fusion fits perfectly. I'm running one myself. The stock air filters from Ford are the same part number, so the K&N equivalent is also identical.
  14. I'm sure some stuff will come down now that they've had some time with the 2.7 in the F150. The fundamentals should be pretty similar, but the transverse mount means designing a new CAI from scratch most likely.
  15. I didn't say it prevents it, just that the gears are different to lessen it. If your FWD had the final drive ratio of the AWD, it would undoubtedly be worse.
  16. FYI the AWD have shorter gears because they can handle the torque/acceleration. FWD are geared taller to avoid off the line wheelspin. You can get the exact gear ratios on Ford's website
  17. Thanks all! Bosch makes universal ones so I'll just find the right size of those
  18. I'm a big fan of Bosch wiper blades. Unfortunately, their website does not yet list the 2015 Edge. While I won't really need them for another 2-3 months when it starts raining again, I'm curious if anyone knows the correct size for driver and passenger side blades.
  19. Just for clarification, the LEDs below the grille on either side are NOT daytime running lights. The DRL are halogens in the headlight cluster. According to Ford, they are "signature lights" that are almost exclusively cosmetic. I'm sure they provide some benefit as pseudo foglights but they are not beams. The 2015 Escape, on the other hand, has bright LED strips as part of the headlight cluster and are intended to be DRLs
  20. I really recommend those waiting for the Weathertech cargo mat go with the OEM one. I'm very happy with it
  21. It would be typical for them to at least have a patch fix in place as soon as they discovered the issue in production and a permanent fix as part of Job 2 builds which should include the advanced driver assist and sync 3 options
  22. When the seats fold down there is a lip but it is low and flexible. If you were to lay something on it with any weight, it would lie flat. You do need to make sure you roll it out and kind of fit it in place for awhile before it takes the right shape. i set a few boxes on top of it overnight and it's been great ever since - no warping or rolling and I don't usually have anything back here to hold it down
  23. My build date was 16.03.2015 I got the letter from Ford and already got the "fix." I never checked my carpet and only had it in a light rain once during my commute home and the car wash once. I didn't notice a leak but like I said, I didn't check. I've been traveling for business and have not had the chance to "test" the fix in the car wash yet. What are the "worst" build dates for this issue?
