  1. I like the front only. I tend to think the rears look to low. I've mounted them a little higher just to avoid the lower flap look.
  2. bbf...You already changed you mind on this topic 2 or 3 times so lets just call it a truce OK. Give it a try and let me know what you all think. And thank you for all your post from the owners guide. However this forum is also about real world owners sharing there thoughts and experience. I am not right and you are not wrong because of what you believe. Its my opinion that the car feels more responsive with O/D off. If you don't agree then don't do it. No big deal, your owners guide does not change the way I feel about my car. So you need to give the owners guide a rest. If someone ask me what "I" think about something I will continue to give my honest OPINION about that topic IF I have real world owner experience and input that may or may not be helpful. If someone does ask me what page 325, paragraph 2, section 3 of the 2007 Ford Edge owners guide says... well I promise to send them your way. Otherwise lighten up buddy. And since my health care provider no longer covers therapy due Internet forums I'm going to have to call it quites on this one... Oh and :beerchug:
  3. I did not say it was a sport mode. Its the grade assit that hold the gear longer that makes it hunt for gears less. It does not put the car into sport or any other mode. It just changes they way the trans shifts and what speed it shifts at. Before you scan and post your owners guide this is a good way to test this out..... Step 1 Put down your Owners guide Step 2 Turn off your computer Step 3 Get into your car and start the engine Step 4 Push the O/D button Step 5 Take a spin! It holds the gear your in longer, down shifts less, and "feels" more reponsive, and dare I say a little more sporty! Sorry I know thw word sporty gets you all worked up. :shades:
  4. "If anyone doubts the information stated above, they can check their Owners Manual for corroboration." Thanks for your input however dont count on the book being right 100% of the time. These are both Motorcraft filters WITH THE SAME PART NUMBER by the book. You tell me if the factory filter is the same as the service replacement filter? Keep in mind the Owners manual would have you think the factory filter and service replacement are the same. They even have the same part number.....
  5. They run 2 and many times 3 "jobs" in one model year. Your book is only good for your run. TRUST ME the new 6 Speeds with the 3.5 and 2.5 dont just lock out OD.
  6. Try to drive with the O/D off. Its way differant shift program. Kinda more sporty. The new ones dont even list it as "O/D off" in the IP it has a pic of a car going down hill. Whatever that means.
  7. Factory oil is not to be left in any longer then what the service book says. It's not normal oil. It's ment to break in the motor. 15K with the thin factory oil in a new DOHC motor is not good. I would think it would be enough to kiss it good by! However if that was me I would be getting a motor from a rear end total loss Edge out of the junk yard, get it running, and trade it in for a little shit box for my wife to drive since she cant take 30 minutes to get the oil changed in her new car.
  8. They are in dealers now. The vents on the dash are fixed. Nice flow and you can close them all. BIG TIME better than my 07 and the 08. New grab handle on A piller pass side too. Also the Limited has speakers in the a piller trim.
  9. Its no big deal. My Taurus X has the PLG and has done the same thing as yours maybe two times in the year we have had it. By the way you dont have to turn it off to close it by hand. Just close it and it will reset when closed.
  10. I get it too but only on the right kind of bump. But sorry to say I have had two Edge and they both did the same on the same bump. I think its just the way it is. If its the same noise I hear.
  11. I just sounds like they dont know what they are doing. But it cant hurt you to cansel and re submit your Pin. Once you cansel it its worthless. The only thing that may have happend is they reported it sold to make a number for last month and now the deal changed and your paper work will not match what they reported so they must un report and re report under the new months programs. That would need a new pin to do that. You should be fine with that. Its no big deal.
  12. The RSS does come from the rear of the car but I dont ever remember it being to low? I dont think you can mess with the volume. As for the AC I can get the drivers vent to blow right at me. Overall the center vents are not real good. You cant close them and there side to side is limited. However I never have a hard time with the system cooling the car on a hot Philly day.
  13. You may want to get the oil cooler installed by the dealer. I know it will be a few bucks more but god forbid something goes wrong you will be covering your butt. The last thing you need is a major problem on the road and not be near the shop that put it on and now you have an Edge and trailer that will need to be towed and repaired on your $$$. I have seen it before where a vehicle was up fitted with a tow pkg outside (even more so because your tow pkg is over what they say the car can tow) and something goes wrong it turns into a big big mess. Listen to this one. A guy had a 2004 Freestar van with a class 3 installed out side. He said he was "just going down the road" when BOTH side curain air bags deployed. Well turns out after months of insurance and lawyers and investigating turns out he was towing a larger trailer than the van was rated for (I think it rated for 1000lbs) he was making a maneuver that trailer jerked the van from side to side so violently that the van saw it as a rollover event and dropped the bags!! So guess who got the bill for replacing the headliner both full length curtain bags. And it wasn't exactly cheap if you catch my drift!! That is a horror story and not saying you would ever do that or run into a problem but in the grand scheme of things for an extra few bucks up front you CYA if the thing leaks or something and you damage you motor. Just a suggestion.... Steve
  14. I like the 9 but it does get a little price when compaired to Edge. I really like my Edge and Im sure you will too. I think you will find that even if you get the MSRPs to be close the real price after dealer and Ford discounts will put the Edge well below the 9. Go Edge!
  15. My Edge does it and my Wifes 3.5L Taurus X also does it. I think its normal for that engine. Had both our cars for about a year and never got any louder longer or worse, even with the temp changes here in the north east.
  16. Thanks I'll try. I was also thinking of useing an oil rather than silicone style.
  17. Its the one all the way to the left..... Its call a "Parking Brake" for a reason. Stop crying.
  18. I used a rubber and vinyl shine on the rubber seal around the Vista roof when I cleaned my car last week. Now the glass roof is creaking against the rubber seal. It makes the creaking sound constantly!! I have been driving with the roof open everytime Im in the car so I dont have to hear it. I should have never used used it!! I thought it would help keep the rubber in good shape!! Any ideas as to how to stop the creaking? I will try this weekend to clean the rubber.
  19. I have a 2007 SEL Plus AWD for over a year now and never heard anything like that. So if it is normal I never noticed it.
  20. The hard part is to get us to do the things that make the car get good MPG. We all and the BIG wheels and we all drive 75-85 on the HWY. I think we would all be shocked to find what a car like this would get in FWD with soft driving with the STD wheel and tire pkg. I know I wanted the 18's at least and would have loved the 20's but you couldnt get them in 07. And driving on the HWY at 60 MPH is like drilling screws into my own hand, it's that painful for me. The car drives so well at 80 mph that it just feels downright slow at 55-60. It's also fun to gun it to merge onto to the HWY since thats the only time you can get away with flooring it to 80MPH and not being an a-hole. It would be interesting to see if anyone here had a FWD with the 17's that could try it out.
  21. Wow this is some good reading! This is the short answer Advance trac with RSC helps keep the shiny side up and the rubber side down! If the light is ON it is turned OFF. It will re activate if you restart the car or drive over 45 MPH. And I'm spent!
  22. I have a 2007 AWD and only have a mile each way to work so you really cant go by my city MPG. My car dosent even warn up by the time I get to work. So with that said I get 12 in the city with the AWD. I would say normal would be 14-15 with AWD. FWD would be better for the MPG. I just read a review of a 2008 Limited FWD by Autosvant.com and they were getting 30 MPG with the FWD and easy HWY (60 MPH). I have a problem going 60 MPH so I can tell you at 75-80 I get 23-24 HWY in the AWD. Fuel Economy We do not usually break out fuel economy into its own section, but we felt it was necessary this time. The simple reason is the exceptionality of the mileage we were getting with the Edge. Around town, you can easily feel the effect of the hefty curb weight, and V6 power, and we averaged only twelve miles per gallon. However, this was in our usual urban driving environment of a traffic light or four-way stop sign at each block, and the resulting endless stop-and-go chore. However, once the Edge was underway on a green wave, or driving in a more suburban setting with fewer lights and better traffic flow, the mileage immediately jumped to almost twenty miles per gallon. Finally, in relaxed highway cruising (without cruise control) we averaged above thirty miles per gallon! We expected 25, maybe even 27 from the Edge, but seeing consistent 30 and even 33 mpg in such a big car was very surprising. In all of our highway drives, traffic conditions had us drive right at the 60 miles per hour sweet-spot, so our results are no-doubt higher than we would get on a true interstate; nonetheless, the Edge is very frugal for a car its size and with so much power Full review here-> http://www.autosavant.net/2008/05/2008-ford-edge-review.html
