  1. I finall got it back and was going through it with a rep when we found overspray on every fender of the car (a big blob of solid pain hanging off). When we pointed this out he made a funny face and was like dang, well that is not normal. In short my review can be summed up as: mechnaically so far the car is great. HOWEVER the fit and finish is below a hyundai/kia at this point. I won't be buying another ford.
  2. If I follow this correctly, this seems to be an issue with the 3.5EB and not the 2.7EB motor correct?
  3. That is the entire point of the luxury car market for the vast majority of people. They don't want that large jump or the throw back feel but they want adaquite acceleration. As some of the very high end car manufacturers quote their hp and tq figures to be "adaquate"...
  4. I was told Ford said to the dealer that my buildup of condensation was not enough to replace them and it is nomal as they are vented. My previous vehicles I guess were sealed as I never saw condensation in them.
  5. The car has been in the shop for a week now... The piece of carpet the ordered for the driver side as it was coming off over the dead pedal had broken slips so I have to wait 2 more days. I will have to go back on three weeks when they get the new headliner in that they also had to order...
  6. I have got my wash mit cought in one of those gaps and it tore off some hairs... I agree the fit and finish I haven't been impressed with. Things I would like to see them improve on (don't know what they have for the 16' model) but a double clutch gear box would make the sport that much more lively... The one thing I do not care for is the lazy/sluggish transmission. The shift are relatively slow and I have been accelerating and selected the gear up level it tries to change and I see the revs try to go down then they jump right back up. The VW DSG is the only one I can compare it to and that kind of transmission would do this sport version wonders. 6 gears I think is fine. If they wanted to add a 7th for highway speeds sure why not. Other have pointed out they don't like the brakes and are too touchy then clearly they do not know what good brakes are.... I must admit I love these brakes (feel) the respons is imidiate and I do not have to modulate very much. My wife needs to get used to them more but coming from more of a performance oriented car to this SUV it is much appreciated. (I have a Travers rental and the brakes have no feel and I can't stand them) The only other thing I would like to have change is the HUGE nose dive this thing does on braking. I don't really know how they would be able to cure that without completely compromising the ride. So that may be just left alone.
  7. New 2015 Ford Edge Sport, Platinum white, 21" wheels 401A. This is our first Ford and mechanically so far (and as expected) it has been fine. We have just over 1,100 miles on it. Overall I like it and it has been a good car. I had a VW (2006 MK5 model) so the interior quality/fit & finish was pretty darn good. So far with this one I have not impressed and it has lived up to the stereotype of an american interior vs a german interior. The head liner by the sunroof controls is coming out. By the Ford center cap the wheel was not painted right (exposed metal). The panel gaps are all over the place some small some large. Condensation in the taillights. Ontop of that when we went to pick up the car the dealer gave us a car with dirty finger prints all over the sun visors and a gash in the front dash.
  8. I love these brakes... My wife's car had very mushy brakes. I love the tight brakes with the immidate bite. Best stock brakes on an SUV I've driven.
  9. I wasn't trying to make them DRL i was just wondering if they would ever work for flash to pass instead of having the HIDs come on for half a second if it was during the day whicih is not good for the HID bulb. I'd rather that happen to a much cheaper halogen bulb on the inners. Now that you mention the wiring to the high beams thats not a bad idea. More light the better:) haha.
  10. Extra coil? Maybe I don't quite understand. From what I know they have the HID builb in the projector and I always thought that had 1 coil. Then the halogen light on the inners. So there is not a hidden way to activate these lights?
  11. My wife asked me what they were for and coming from a VW historically those are flash to pass and when I went to show her... the HID lights came on and the shutters moved up. I can't say I was expecting that. Is there anyway to change this so the inner headlights are flash to pass instead of the HID lights? I thought it was kind of odd. Again I know with VW I could go into the comupter with Vagcom and change any and all settings I wanted but from my research there is nothing like that for Ford.
  12. I eventually found it in the manual. M14x1.5 and the torque spec is 168 ft.lb!!!!! That is crazy. I'll have to call and see what the max torque spec for the gorilla locks are. Thanks agian.
  13. I did some searching the I found that we have the same lug nuts as the 2015/2016 ford mustang which seems to have a size of 14mm - 1.5 thread pitch. For the gorilla locks I found this one, the Acorn version. Is this correct? http://www.amazon.com/Gorilla-Automotive-61641-Acorn-Thread/dp/B002801NI8/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1446727606&sr=1-1&keywords=gorilla+guard+wheel+lock+61641
  14. perfect, I'll have a look into this. Thank you!
  15. Looking at the locking lug nuts that would take some real effort to break it off. My concern is first it is hideous and secondly is you now have an uneven weight on the wheels which could cause some vibrations.
  16. I found condensation in the rear passenger taillight 3 days after we brought the new car home....
  17. I don't think I follow. Are you referencing the lug nut covers? Because there is a tool next to the wheel lock socket that is used to remove them and it is very easy just an "L" shaped piece of metal.
  18. I was going to order the wheel lock kit for my new 2015 Edge Sport with the optional 21" wheels but after reading and finding this in the parking lot I definitely will not. I am pretty dissapointed with ford that they don't have a better solution. My 10 year old VW had a wheel lock kit with all the same lug sized and length so it did not protrude (even had lug nut overs so you'd never know). Is there any other solution or options others have used? I don't want to come to my car one day on blocks and these pretty wheels are gone. Thoughts?
  19. Hi everyone, my wife and I just received a new 2015 edge sport in white platinum with the 21" wheels just like the one below. So far we are really enjoying it. I sadly had to give up my manual VW as she did not want to learn and this will be the family car. I have a lot of wrenching and modifying experience with VW over the past 7 years. I have no ford experiene. I know there were some issues with earlier EB motors esp the first gen 2.0 motors (carbon build up). I'll be on the lookout for other potential issues with this 2.7 EB. We just update the Sync system as the second day we got it, Sync crashed twice. In addition we got a dirty car, there are dirty hand prints all over the sun visors and a noticeable gash in the front dash. Also yesterday we noticed condensation in the rear passenger taillight. So sad to say, I haven't been too impressed with those items but it is a quick and good looking vehicle. My wife is happy so that's what matters. I look forward to further posts on here!
