Thanks lidisco. The more research I do the more confusing it gets. Interesting that your part number DE8T-1A180-AA doesn't show up on the Ford sites. I see that part is interchanged with a TPMS12 which does show up on Ford sites, but doesn't show as fitting my 2011 Edge. When I look up TPMS12 on Carid.com or the ebay fitment filters, they say it does fit. $69 Brand new for 4 on Amazon............ says "New OEM, bulk packed" I may give that a shot based on the good reviews it's seen

I just bought some 2015 Mustang GT wheels to put on my 2011 Edge Limited. Can't wait to get that chrome clad crap off They need TPMS sensors and I've got a chance to get the 2015 Mustang sensors for a great price from the same seller. But when I look up the parts at the dealer to see if they'll work I see 2 different part numbers for them, both 315Mhz: 2011: 9L3Z-1A189-A 2015: F2GZ-1A189-A Anyone know if the 2015 sensor will work in my 2011 Edge?

Thanks for pointing that out, that's critical. I've always used pure Helium in my tires. The extra lift it gives the car drastically reduced rolling resistance and hence my gas mileage is awesome. And make sure you over inflate the spare too. That raises the rear of the car up a few inches more so I can run bigger staggered wheels in the rear and gives me that "raked" look on the road

I've just completed rotating the air in my tires. I'm told it will extend the tire life by 2X

Chefduane - to your comment about a 2 year old thread.......... Well noted. That's the beauty of this site for those that care about our rides. I needed advise on the hitch and found it in this old thread. So I'm adding my experience in case someone else needs a hitch/bike rack... someday Here's the finale First test drive (120 miles round trip) with the Drawtite hitch and the Swagman dual bike rack. Bike's clamp down tight and there's absolutely no movement or rattling sounds sounds. Very pleased One heads up if you are using an anti-rattle lock on the hitch with the Swagman rack. I wanted a lock pin to lock the rack to the hitch, so since this was a class III hitch, I got the class III anti rattle J lock which is 17/32" diameter. Wrong..... Turns out the Swagman (not the hitch) will only take 1/2" diameter (class II I presume?) so I ended having to reorder, and buying the Swagman anti wobble 1/2" lock. Quiet as advertised, but an unexpected distraction I also used a bike locking cable that was long enough to loop through the hitch, the rack and the bike. I figured you'd have to steal my Edge if you wanted my bike End of the day, very pleased and felt secure that my bike (worth way more than the hitch and rack) was "relatively" secure to walk away from during the day. I guess if I see a guy walk by with bolt cutters I'd better head back to my car

I really like the look. I do have one more cleanup to do. I'm finding that the driver's side muffler hits the hitch where it approaches the frame rail. May just take it to a custom exhaust shop to see if they can tweak it a bit. More disturbing was that I saw a rust spot beginning to appear on the bottom of that muffler. Figuring that's a problem for about a year from now I decided to look of the cost. It's all one piece (resonator pipe and 2 mufflers with tips) and it's $542 at Ford without freight................ May be looking at my alternate options there

well, there's no instructions, so there was some trial and error. Reason being: I could slide the old gasket a bit even after it was on the rail but the new one took real force to move it (a good thing I suppose). So since it's harder to move the new one once it's in the rail, that means you have to start by inserting the front correctly in the front plastic notch and then work towards the rear. Once you get near the back, you have to slide the top of the gasket into the upper rear plastic guide (of which a new one is also included in the package) and then force the rest of the fanned tail into the lower rail. I didn't use the new rear upper rail since mine was fine So if I knew all that in advance it's a 2 minute job

mangled is the correct word...... The old one looks a bit like a broken finger. And since I've put the old one back on several times, it really surprised me how the new one "snapped" into the bottom slot on the rail. It sure feels like the new one is there to stay (and no adhesive required). Fingers crossed

I installed the Drawtite 75992 Class III hitch yesterday to use with the Swagman 64650 2 bike rack. $220 all in. Nice end result YouTube videos are fantastic (better than the instructions). Only difference from the video was the rusted fasteners on the heat shield that us snow belt drivers will come across. I wish the underside of our cars looked as rust free as the video

Installed the new accordion gasket (shield) yesterday. Interesting note is that the new one snaps firmly onto the rail which the deformed one never wanted to to do (and stay there)

Spoke too soon I guess. The accordion gasket (FT4Z-78500A66-A Shield) fell on my daughters head yesterday. I'm done messing with it and ordered the replacement part from Ford for $90.72. I'm clearly in the wrong business if this hunk of rubber can be sold for 90 bucks.............

After the out of town weekend from hell disconnecting the battery multiple times a day (and every night), the salvage Control Panel arrived today (3 days early). Installation was easy with the help of that Youtube video I posted earlier. The only thing that I did differently was that I took all the screws out of both panels first, then separated the control panel from the shifter console panel. It was much easier that way. To separate the 2 panels, you pull the whole assembly away from the dash a little, hold the shifter panel and then push the Control Panel towards the dash right at the seam above where the 2 panels meet. 2 clips, one on each side As a data point, my original 2011 Control Panel label on the part was part number BT-18A802-CL (not even listed on the Ford site), and the 2013 replacement was DT4T-18A802-CB (also not listed) And the hazard lights are OFF

Also wanted to mention my key FOB. Since the battery was dead, I had to pull the real key out of the FOB to unlock the doors. When I inserted the key in the lock and started to turn it, the skinny plastic handle on the key portion disintegrated........... leaving me with a hunk of metal in my hand. Luckily the lock turned easily now i'm searching for just that portion of the FOB, but looks like it will require cutting a new key too. And it makes me leery of the handle on my second FOB now..........

got home and went to get the Edge at the airport. Battery dead (flashers were off when I left it there Tuesday). I had jumpers so I jumped it (took 45 minutes for the battery to get enough juice to fire up). But no issues driving home. On the charger overnight so good this morning. While waiting for my new panel, I decided to try one more thing. I took an alcohol wipe and decided to clean the surface of the captouch switch assuming that 6 years of fingers touching (intentionally or not) might leave some residue that could impact it's characteristics. I couldn't believe how much dark junk was on the wipe when I finished. So today's going to be the test to see if that had any effect. It's clean at least And since I'm taking it out of town for the weekend, I of course am bringing my charger and my jumper cables as the backup plan

Good find Omar. But looks like that one's talking about a 2013 which should already have a real button to replace the sensitive captouch button. Right? Doesn't mean that there still isn't an oxidation issue on the ribbon connector though. I'll have to think diving into that. The ebay seller has already shipped the used one and is only 300 miles away, so I hoping for a Tuesday delivery

Digging up this old thread for some help. My 2011 Edge Limited has just started doing this whenever it wants. I've found that I can get the hazards to turn off if I push the captouch button numerous times. But 5 minutes later it starts up again. The Ford sites show this part as BT4Z18842EA as discontinued and doesn't list a replacement. Following this thread, I've started looking for a 2013-14's on eBay that clearly have an actual button and that look the same as mine but with different part numbers. Any one know which of this will work? -CB? -CD? -CL?
